Natasha's heart skipped a beat. So this was real... Drogen had forgotten her for real.
"It's nothing, I'll go see what happened," Natasha replied, biting her bottom lip nervously.
"Or did you two break up?" Alice cut in, her brows furrowed. Natasha saw that there was no need to lie about it—everyone was going to find out anyway.
"Yeah, we did. I guess he got tired of me." She shrugged, acting nonchalant, but the pain in her eyes was too obvious for Alice not to notice.
"Cheer up, girl. I can assure you, that man felt something for you. I could tell from the way he looked at you. Maybe if you try hard—"
"There's no need. It's fine... really."
She made her way to Drogen's office, her heart thumping loudly in her chest. She was both eager and nervous to see him. After a deep exhale, she knocked on the door.
"Come in," his deep, commanding voice ordered.
