"I don't know! This monster suddenly appeared on Tenrou Island and attacked us!" Erza said.
"This black dragon roams the world like a scourge," Gildarts explained.
He recounted how, while attempting a Hundred-Year Quest, he was gravely injured by Acnologia and barely escaped with his life.
"Hoo! A bunch of bugs!!!"
Acnologia roared at the Fairy Tail crowd.
"Attack!!"
Everyone in Fairy Tail unleashed their spells against Acnologia.
Su Yan also stood up. Though seriously injured, his physique far surpassed that of ordinary humans.
Even if his Devil Fruit powers weren't fully awakened—so he couldn't regenerate as swiftly—his recovery was still extraordinary.
Su Yan raised his palm, focusing his Conqueror's Haki. A massive purple sword formed above his hand.
Conqueror's Haki was Su Yan's strongest power, his most devastating form of attack—even when he was a dragon.
This gigantic sword pulsed with purple lightning crackling around it.
Everyone in Fairy Tail realized Su Yan was gathering energy for a massive strike.
"Buy time for Su Yan!!!"
"Oh oh oh oh oh!!!"
They rushed in to distract Acnologia, but in the blink of an eye, nearly everyone was badly injured.
"A bunch of annoying insects!!"
Suddenly, a loud cry rang out:
"Step aside—!!!"
Everyone in Fairy Tail scattered.
A towering energy sword hovered above Su Yan's head, wrapped in purple lightning.
"Slash—!!!"
Su Yan roared, swinging his palm down at Acnologia.
"Ah—!!!"
Purple lightning tore through the air.
It was as though the very fabric of space cracked.
That colossal sword of Haki slashed across Acnologia's chest.
"Pfft—!!!"
"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!"
Acnologia let out an agonized howl.
"Boom——!!!"
The force of Su Yan's strike split the sea itself.
"The sea… it's been sliced apart!!!"
They'd witnessed Su Yan once slice apart the clouds in the sky. This time, he had cut through the ocean.
Such power was on par with that of gods.
When the smoke cleared, everyone saw a bone-deep wound across Acnologia's chest.
"Excellent!!!"
"As expected of Su Yan!!"
The Fairy Tail members cheered upon seeing Acnologia so grievously wounded.
They had inflicted no damage before, yet Su Yan had severely injured Acnologia with a single blow. His strength was staggering.
Acnologia's eyes flickered uneasily. It had managed to overpower Su Yan earlier, but at a cost. Now that Su Yan was in human form, Acnologia had underestimated him—and it had never imagined such a devastating attack could come from a mere human state.
"Attack—!!!"
With Acnologia wounded, Fairy Tail's morale soared.
The black dragon's most terrifying feature was its near-invincible defense, but now that its hide was cut open, they believed they could hurt it further if they targeted that wound.
"Roar—!!!"
Acnologia roared and opened its mouth, swallowing the incoming magic.
"What?!"
Everyone in Fairy Tail froze.
They had seen Natsu devour fire-based magic before to boost his power, but this was different—Acnologia was absorbing all elemental magic.
Then Acnologia stomped hard and beat its wings, shooting up into the sky.
"Retreat?" Lisanna ventured hopefully, seeing Acnologia ascending.
But before anyone could relax, Acnologia paused in midair.
It pulled its head back, chest heaving.
Gajeel yelled, "That's the roar!!!"
"Is it trying to blow away the entire island?!"
"No way!"
"Anyone who can use defensive magic, pour everything you have into it!!"
"Yes!!"
Freed gritted his teeth. "Not enough time to write out a lengthy enchantment!"
Levy added, "There are plenty of defensive options in Solid Script magic!"
Bickslow said, "As expected of you!"
Lisanna called, "Everyone, focus your magic on Freed and the others!"
Mira shouted, "Hold hands!!"
All of Fairy Tail joined hands.
"We can't die in a place like this!!"
"Yeah, never give up!!"
"Let's unite!! Show the power of our guild's bonds!!"
"We're going back together…"
"Back to Fairy Tail!"
From a distance, Zeref sighed. "Not even they can stop him? It's over."
Then it happened:
"Roar—!!!"
A destructive beam fell from the sky.
"Boom——!!!"
It was like a new sun was born above the sea.
The devastating impact threw up a massive wave, causing the Magic Council's battleship to lurch violently.
Everyone looked on in horror.
Where Tenrou Island had once been, there was now only a gigantic crater. In seconds, that crater filled with the rushing sea.
Tenrou Island—gone without a trace.
Satisfied there were no remaining signs of life, Acnologia flapped its wings and disappeared into the distance.
Perhaps it went to recover, for no one saw Acnologia again for a long time.
Even after six months of searching the nearby seas, no survivors were found.
