Everyone in Fairy Tail knew Blue Pegasus's "Ichiya," who had been a great help when searching for Tenrou Island. Even their famous flying ship, the magic bomber Christina, was used to help with the search. Because of that, everyone in Fairy Tail recognized both Ichiya and the Blue Pegasus craft soaring in the sky.
"Ichiya-sama, I understand how you feel, but please calm down a bit,"
"I can use Air Magic, you know,"
"It's been a while, everyone."
The trio from Blue Pegasus—Hibiki, Ren, and Eve—floated down gracefully from the magic bomber.
"Yeah!" Hibiki, who still looked as handsome as ever, shot them a wink. Seven years apparently hadn't changed him much.
"Hmph," Ren snorted, losing a bit of his old tsundere edge, though his hair had grown longer.
"Macao, you've gotten older again?" Eve—who no longer looked much like a child, despite retaining a baby face—grinned as he spoke.
Droy frowned, not exactly pleased to see just how stylish these three remained.
"What's going on?" Jet muttered, puzzled by this sudden arrival.
As was their habit, the trio drifted over to Laki and began chatting her up.
"Miss Laki, you're still as lovely as ever."
"You… look great with glasses, don't you think?"
"Is it alright if I call you 'big sister'?"
"Don't you guys do anything besides flirt?!" Max yelled in frustration.
Ichiya got up, brushing himself off. "Really now, you three…"
"Apologies!" the trio said in unison, bowing.
"Through our teamwork and battles together, we've never forgotten the fragrance of friendship," Ichiya went on.
Hibiki smiled. "According to our analysis of old texts—and Christina's sensor data—a new magical phenomenon has emerged at the site of Tenrou Island."
Everyone in Fairy Tail looked at him in disbelief. "That means…"
Ichiya struck a dramatic pose. "Tenrou Island still exists!"
—
Out on the waters near where Tenrou Island once stood, a boat had arrived.
Having heard Blue Pegasus's findings, Fairy Tail members had come to investigate.
"This is really the place?" Bisca lowered her telescope. She'd scanned the horizon and seen only open sea.
"Nothing out there," Alzack added, surveying the endless waves.
Warren said, "According to those Pegasus guys, this stretch of ocean is giving off some kind of 'ether value.' I'm not really sure what that means though."
"Beats me," Max said, comparing their position on the map. "Sounds like some magical particle reading or something."
Bisca looked uneasy. "Shouldn't we have brought Romeo along? He's the one who most wants to see everybody return."
Alzack nodded. "Maybe we should have insisted he come."
"We can't be certain they're even alive…" someone mumbled. "Letting him get his hopes up…that might be cruel."
Meanwhile, Jet and Droy—arms around each other's shoulders—were chanting,
"Gonna see Levy!"
"Gonna see Levy!"
"Don't get too excited," someone else scolded. "It's been seven years with no sign at all. You need to be ready for bad news."
The rest fell silent, sobering up. Seven years was a long time.
Just then, everyone noticed a small figure standing atop the water.
"What is that?"
"A person?"
"But she's on top of the sea!"
"Standing on the water?! Who is she?"
They saw a petite girl, barefoot on the surface of the ocean. She raised her hand.
"Boom—!"
The sea began to churn violently.
"Uwaah—!!"
Before their eyes, an enormous transparent sphere emerged, and inside it lay an entire island. Although the shape had changed, it was unmistakably Tenrou Island—smaller now, as if large sections had collapsed, but still recognizable as the Fairy Tail guild's sacred ground.
"It's Tenrou Island!!!"
"It's back… Tenrou Island!"
All of Fairy Tail gasped. Although many of them had never visited this sacred place themselves, they recognized it from guild records. Now the mysterious girl with long, curly blonde hair ran toward the island.
"That girl's headed right for Tenrou Island!"
"After her! Hurry!"
"Wait up!!"
They scrambled to follow. Soon, they spotted a body half-buried in the dirt.
"Su Yan!!"
"It's Su Yan!"
They rushed over to dig him out.
"Su Yan!! Hey, wake up!!"
"Get it together, you idiot!!"
They shook him until Su Yan slowly opened his eyes. He peered at them in confusion, recognizing them but also noting how different they looked.
"You guys?…"
"Su Yan!!!"
"Waaah! You're alive!!"
They all piled onto him, crying tears of relief.
"What's going on? How are you even here—and why do you look so different…?" Su Yan's gaze darted between them, finally placing each face despite the changes.
"You haven't changed at all!!"
"What about the others?" Su Yan suddenly recalled his battle against Acnologia before everything went dark.
A soft voice chimed in: "Over here!"
They turned to find the small girl who had guided them to the island.
"Who are you?" one of them asked.
She smiled. "I'm Mavis. Mavis Vermillion, the first Guild Master of Fairy Tail."
