Another interview
I was so confused as I booked an evening flight to NYC, heading to the airport.
I sat on a bench awaiting my plane
"I'm I in or not as." I thought throughout the flight.
I arrived home it was nine am, I had slept a bit on the plane. I arranged my things for work tomorrow then went back to continue the sleep I started on the plane,I went to bed confused was I in or out.i shouldn't have said anything I thought as i slept off.
I woke up three am in the morning preparing for work, when I saw an notification at the front of my phone I opened it and it read "you're to start work tomorrow by eight am from solid enterprises."the message was sent eleven am yesterday which meant today " God I'm doomed, help me Lord in the mess I placed myself in," I cried" Mia what have you done, because of money." Mother Sharon always said Mia on day you're going to get in trouble because of money,I guess she was right.
I checked for an airport going to Las Vegas that night I found it but it's leaves in an hour as I paid extra for the flight.
I rushed to get my clothes, I had already taken my Bath I dressed in a white shirt a royal blue skirt and shoes and black shoes. I gathered my hospital cards, my office key, id and other things that I would drop at the receptionist desk, before sending a resignation letter to the chief medical director of the hospital.
I took a cab to the hospital I submitted my uniform and all other things as I resigned, the receptionist was shocked I didn't have time for her questions as I waved at her will running.i left the hospital for the airport I turned into the flash.
The luckily for me the plane was just in the runway and people was getting in as I followed from behind it was 4:05am.
Our plane was really fast soon we touched down, I took a cab and got to the office by 7:56 two minutes to spear.
As I entered his the office there was a man opposite him in a chair.
" Good morning." I greeted.
" His your coworker, I don't care about any intro do it yourselves." He he scribbling on a piece of paper
" Now I ask you again do you till want this this job? because once you're in there's no turning back, it's all in the contract," he said this time looking seriously at me keenly.
I didn't even know if I wanted the job the contract said I would get a car and a house.plus my monthly salary was way higher than an hospital in the world could pay. But this seems too good to be through, what was the catch. I was contemplating within my self maybe he so rude, or is he into drugs.
The contract was so intense every about the work here would be secret,but the price on it was mouth watering.
" Sir I'm I going to be doing anything illegal." I had the right to know,so I can decide
He was losing his patients " no you're not," he said in announce then banged the table "are you in or out!" He yelled
I was startled a bit but I didn't care,it was his hand that would get hurt not mine.
I guess since I wasn't going to be doing anything illegal why not " yes sir." I responded
" You two go and meet my secretary." He ordered both of us then returned back to his computer as me and the dude left
The guy was taller than I was I felt short next to him he had Brown hair thick brows and hazel eyes, his skin was nice though white and clear but it was a bit off almost pale but I ignored it.
"Boss said you two would start work immediately by tomorrow,boss wants you and mr.peterson to get all your things tomorrow bags, clothes, accessories all the things you need. you guys are going to be always not far from he's reach when ever he needs you," She said from the table
" Please can u see his medical records."I asked
" I'm sorry but I only told you what he said I should tell you." She explained
We left for the elevator door it was awkward in the elevator I wanted to brighten it up, he was my new coworker after all
" So what field are you in the medical department?" I said with a smile " don't mind my me where are my manners I'm Mia Anderson." I said raising my hand as he stood there watching me I streched my ands even further turning my head more to his direction with no sign of giving up,I didn't want to be emmbrassed like that
" Anthony, Anthony Pierce," He said shaking my hanging hand. I smiled in triumph
" Don't worry you would soon know my field, let me not spoil the surprise,cause you didn't know what you have gotten yourself into." He said in smirked, the elevator door opened, then he left.
Freak what does he means by that,I wasn't doing anything illegal.I was puzzled as Ieft the building but I wasn't going to be then I got a call from the chief director
" Good morning ma," I greeted as I picked the call.
" Mia why did you leave in short notice?" she asked I could hear the concern in her voice.
" About that something personal came up that made me move out to another state at a very short notice, I didn't have time to tell you I'm sorry ma." I partially told the truth.
" Okay that's alright but we would till be in touch." She said
" Yes Ma'am." I said smiling then she hung up.
She a sweet woman I hated doing this to them all my friends,I even had a crush and my coworkers. But money calls.
I had my phone in my hand, I had an afternoon flight by twelve'o clock and the meeting ended by eight forty. So I checked if I could reschedule it but I couldn't I tried other airlines eventually I found two airlines by ten and eleven I took the one leaving by ten, cancelling my recent flight.
The airline was at the outskirts of town so I took a bus, Las Vegas was a beautiful place,it had the busy and luxurious life and the cool, quiet country side.buy it was hot especially in the summer.
While I was in the bus the person next to me was holding a baby,she was holding a baby she had long black flowing her she was slim, light in complexion with blue eyes.
The baby looked like her but had blonde hair and green eyes.
" Could you hold why baby while I use the bathroom," the woman in her late twenties said,as she approached me with her baby with a smile as I studied her closely.
" Hope you won't run away leaving me with your baby and a note that says don't trust the police, or give her to the police. because your husband or brother inlaw wants to kill the child or something, cause I won't get tangled up in any shit,drop her at the police station and walk away like nothing ever happened." I said to her. I read it in a novel once and found out it has actually been happening in the news and magazine too. the woman laughed
" You know I have actually read same novel, don't worry I won't run away I can assure you." She said reassuring me
" You better." I said stretching my hands to receive the baby.
" I will." She said handing the baby over to me. Then headed for the gas station restroom our bus stopped at.
She was cute I couldn't lie,as I was bonding with the baby. It made me immediately want to have one of my own, I haven't seen started seeing or dating anyone talk less of having kids.
I wasn't aware when the child's mother came because all my attention was on the child.
" See I told you I wouldn't run away," she teased me while sitting down on her seat right next to me
" My husband is a police but he's not going to kill his child to cover his tracks." She said, Finally settling down comfortably on her seat.I smiled to her joke
" Look like you guy are getting along pretty well," she commented
" Yeah can I hold her a bit more?" I asked swaddling the children " what's her name?"I asked.
" Cynthia, and yeah you can saves me the stress." She said pleased.
I was playing with the child eventually her mom slept off.
We where about to reach our last bus stop when little Cynthia sept off,then the bus came to an hualt.i woke the mother up then she yawned.
" I really needed that thanks," she thanked me
" That's okay." I said handing her,her children.
" I didn't get your name,are you from around here? " She asked as we descended the bus
"Mia,nope but I live in this state though.you?" I asked her back
" I'm Emile I'm actually going to see my mom." She replied
" Nice to meet you." I said about to leave.
" Yeah you too." She said as we parted ways
