Kai didn't flinch or give away any hint of what he had just uncovered. Instead, he moved to the worn armchair opposite Mrs. Marsh and gestured for her to take a seat on the couch.
However She hesitated for a moment before sitting down, her hands twisting nervously in her lap.
At that moment Kai leaned forward slightly, his voice soft but steady. "Mrs. Marsh, I know this is hard, but I need you to tell me everything you can about Leo. Start from the beginning. Anything you remember might help."
Hearing what Kai just said her gaze dropped to her hands, her fingers fidgeting with the edge of her sweater.
Then She swallowed hard, and when she spoke, her voice trembled.
"Loe's been gone for over a week now. He… he works on a farm a few miles from here. Every day, he'd take the same route, always coming home before sunset."
Kai nodded, his expression calm, encouraging her to continue.
