At that moment Kai's brow furrowed slightly, but he stayed quiet, letting Sam's words spill out. However Sam's face hardened with a mix of frustration and fear. "Look, I don't care if they silence me," he continued, his tone growing more desperate.

"But I can't—I won't—let them hurt my mom. She doesn't deserve that kind of pain, Kai. You don't understand what it's like to know that no matter what you do, you can't protect the people you care about."

Hearing Sam words Kai stood there, his face calm but his fists clenched at his sides as he watched Sam struggle with his words.

"Kai," Sam began, his voice carrying an edge of both desperation and defiance, "I'm warning you—stay out of my business. Just…don't make things worse for me, I'm trying to managed everything, and don't take I'm your friend or something, that is what you all do, later you turn against the innocent."
