Kai a regular detective was killed by his partner after he uncovered the case he had been following for years now.
Dying with hate in his heart, Kai thought all was over for him, but something sudden appeared in his eyes.

The chief's words echoed in the room as he concluded, "We begin the search tonight. Until then, all officers should be on high alert, patrolling every corner of Apex Grove. Keep your eyes open. We cannot afford to miss anything."

At that moment There was a collective nod of agreement from the officers.

Some muttered to one another as they filed out, their faces a mixture of resolve and apprehension.

However Kai stayed seated for a moment, his gaze fixed on the empty whiteboard at the front of the room.

The police were willing to pull out all the stops, mobilizing nearly the entire force, and preparing for intrusive searches—all for the death of a criminal who'd likely caused more harm than good in this town. And yet, when ordinary, innocent citizens were hurt, bullied, or even killed, they turned a blind eye, shrugged it off, or buried the case entirely.
