CHAPTER 26: Embarrassed

RUMBLE RUMBLE RUMBLE!

The large dead tree suddenly came back to life, suddenly moving, its roots breaking out of the ground to form a black human calf, the tree trunk exploded. Inside appeared the five internal organs, not a single piece of flesh covering the intestines, hanging out. Fresh blood spurted out like rain, the twisted branches intertwined and kneaded into a human face with terrifying facial features, flesh and blood exposed.

A giant demon appeared, its white, soulless eyes opened wide, looking down at Xie Cheng. It opened its mouth wide to the ears, revealing sharp iron teeth covered in blood and human flesh stuck between its teeth, it bent down and brought its disgusting demon face to the ground to see its prey more clearly.

Facing the two huge eyes and the stinking mouth of the demon, his mind had turned into a pile of explosives. The fear and horror had surged up to the galaxy, his heart seemed to have stopped beating, his whole body was nailed down and unable to move.

Bang!

"AAA!!!".

Liu Yu jumped and stabbed the long sharp knife into one of its eyes, the other hand pulled Xie Cheng into his embrace and jumped away. The demon staggered in pain, raised its head and covered its eyes, it was extremely angry and glared at Liu Yu. Roaring, it spread its legs and stepped over the wall, reaching out to grab him.

Lightning-like rays of light tore across the sky, the demon's arm was instantly severed. He stood in front of it and brandished a few knife strokes, in the blink of an eye the giant demon exploded. The rain of flesh and blood in the sky gathered into a puddle on the ground. The demon just like that left in the light stroke of his knife.

The blood that stained the small knife flowed down to the ground, forming a puddle, suddenly a faint halo surrounded the blade. After it dispersed, the blade was clean and shiny again, sharp and spotless like before, the flesh and blood disappeared. He used a patterned black cloth to wrap the knife and turned around to hand it to Xie Cheng.

This knife is yours.

Xie Cheng couldn't recover his senses, his body was frozen.

"Give it back to you." Liu Yu patted his shoulder.

"Ah!". Only then did he react, screaming and falling to the ground.

He caught his hand in time, pulling him up: "You should get used to it, in the future there won't be just these kinds of demons, there will be even more terrifying demons."

He was clearly no longer afraid of ghosts, but the giant demon from earlier haunted him. It was more disgusting than the hungry demons and the skinny demon he met in that place.

He took a deep breath and exhaled, trying to get rid of the terror.

If he wanted to survive in this curse, he had to have at least some courage. He couldn't just rely on others forever.

He had to be tough!

"Let me put this knife back on you." Liu Yu immediately returned it to its original position.

"Huh?" Xie Cheng's eyes widened in surprise.

Wondering how he got the knife from him, he didn't feel or sense that someone had pulled out his knife at that time.

Looking at the knife on his waist then looking at him, he took a few steps back to be wary of him.

He immediately thought that this guy was definitely not human!

There was no human that walked without moving, moving without feeling!

Furthermore, there was no human that was... Never seen this handsome!

This kind of beauty was something that ordinary people did not have, even famous male gods on TV could not compare. What made him look so mysterious was his rare amber eyes.

Looking at his fearful attitude, he felt amused in his heart but remained cold on the outside.

"I just saved you, aren't you going to thank me?". He walked over and hugged his waist.

He lost all vigilance for a second.

He really wanted to push him away but why didn't his body listen, just let him hug him.

The masculine breath blew by his ear, his voice low: "Why are you afraid of me? I didn't eat you."

Unable to bear it, he pushed him away this time, his face reddened and he turned away: "I... Why should I be afraid of you? Don't suddenly hug me like that in the future."

He raised his eyebrows and asked: "Why? I just saved you."

Xie Cheng: ".....".

What to say now?

Only now did he realize that it wasn't fear of him but shyness!

Was he going crazy? Why should he be shy? He wasn't a girl, so why would he be shy.

"Cough cough, okay, forget it." He pretended to adjust his collar.

Suddenly remembering something, his face darkened, and he exclaimed: "That's right! Xiao Xin has been gone for a while now!".

He lit a lighter and looked around, there was no one else besides the two people and that slimy pile of flesh. Suddenly a cold wind blew through the dark forest ahead, as if hundreds of ghosts were lurking in the forest, calling out to Liu Yu and Xie Cheng.

Shivering, he retreated and stood parallel to him without realizing it.

"That girl was lured inside by the ghosts in the forest, let's go." The man beside him spoke.

Startled when he heard his voice beside him, he moved away.

This was like a magnet, causing him to be drawn towards him.

He smiled slightly.

The two of them walked inside together.

The forest was dark and cold, every step felt like there were countless invisible eyes watching in the bushes or high up in the trees. There was an owl flying across the sky above the trees, screeching extremely creepy. This made Xie Cheng shiver even more, moving closer to Liu Yu, their shoulders touching.

Forget about that pride and courage.

Right now, the important thing was not that a gentleman was not afraid of anything, but how to peacefully find Xiao Xin and quickly get through this dark forest without any fear.

While walking, suddenly a hand groped his hand and then grabbed it, feeling the rough, calloused hand. Xie Cheng tilted his head slightly to sneak a look at Liu Yu, he was expressionless as their hands intertwined.

"If you're scared, just hold my hand."

The warmth from his hand passed over, and he suddenly felt something fluttering in his heart.

Was it fluttering?

Impossible! He wasn't his type.

He likes young and small boys, but a tall and mature man like this, he can't 'play' with.

Suddenly he felt his face hot, he had a fever or something. Isn't this too intimate?

"Why are your hands shaking?". He turned his face and asked kindly.

His hands were shaking without him knowing, he was embarrassed and didn't dare to look straight into his eyes, saying: "I'm scared".

Looking at him shyly, a memory suddenly flashed through his mind.

The pink sunset scene on the ship drifting on the sea, the blue waves gently lapping and undulating. A romantic wind blew by, the long-haired girl sitting next to him tidied her hair because he was teasing her to the point of shyness and turned her face away. He smiled happily and pulled her into his arms, gently kissing her forehead. Whispering sweet words in her ear, she blushed even more.

"I am a bee, you are a flower filled with honey that makes me infatuated and always love you, Qing Hua, do you think my poems are good?".

She blushed, closed her eyes and kissed his cheek: "My poems are not too bad."

The memories gradually closed, the illusion appeared beside him as if Xie Cheng was Qing Hoa back then. From the face to the shyness, they were very similar, this made his heart ache.

The ache was not because of pain but because of happiness.

The wife he had been faithful and loved for decades had now vaguely returned to his side and were holding hands once again fighting, together finding a way to escape the curse. And... Loving each other, never leaving.

"If Xiao Xin had gone into the forest, then why haven't we seen anyone yet? Could it be that we got lost?". Xie Cheng's question suddenly interrupted his dream.

The illusion dissipated, pulling him back to reality. The boy beside him was tilting his head to ask him. His face, which was relaxing because of a small bit of happiness, suddenly became serious and cold.

He gently breathed a sigh of relief, almost a blush flashed across his face, his voice slightly hoarse: "That girl must have gone deep into the forest."

He looked forward, the boy nodded and followed his gaze. In front of the deep path, there was suddenly some dim light, probably a house light.

The two of them walked through that light and went to the edge of the forest, a mansion a dozen meters away from them appeared. The path was strewn with bricks and stones, with rows of street lights on both sides and a few rows of stone benches. There was a fragrant grapefruit scent lingering around, rushing up to his nose as if to purify the stench of blood he had passed through.

This place actually gave off a sense of peace, Xie Cheng slightly let go of his hand to comfortably walk forward alone, but he held it tightly.

Liu Yu observed the surroundings with sharp phoenix eyes, speaking: "Don't let down your guard".

Xie Cheng: ".....".

Nothing unusual, he turned off the flashlight and the two of them walked forward. Now it was almost dawn, the white, luxurious classically-styled mansion in front of them was clearer. In front of the large black gate, under the light in front of the gate, a tall, dim figure was suddenly seen leaning against a lamppost looking at something.

As he got closer, he saw that it was...

The person in front felt that two people were approaching and immediately raised his head, he stood up straight, his eyes lit up.

"Xie Cheng Cheng!".

It was Xie Ying.

His worried face suddenly became happy when he saw him, he was about to rush over and hug him when the smile suddenly disappeared. His movements stopped, he stopped, his coldness immediately appeared, his face darkened. Because he saw that he and he were holding hands, looking no different from lovers.
