Chapter 32: Meeting The King

Adelaide looked at the girl who paused, and was unwilling to give a reply, and a scoff escaped her lips.

"I believe I asked a question, where have you been? If anything, I should be the one questioning you," Adelaide spoke authoritatively, which was something she didn't do often, unless, she was in a bad mood.

Marie swallowed as she looked at Adelaide, who had a fierce expression on her face.

"I'm sorry My Lady, I was out with Camden, we had some important business to take care of," Marie replied with her head bowed.

Adelaide squinted her eyes as she stared at Marie who still had her head lowered.

"Fine, I believe you," after a few minutes, Adelaide replied with a smile, and a sigh of relief washed over Marie as she raised her head to look at Adelaide, who still had the smile on her face.
