Chapter 21. Un requited Love

Asher leaned back in his chair, a look of curiosity on his face. "Dude, have you guys seen Lucas lately?"

Chase, who was sipping on a Starbucks coffee, shook his head. "No, I haven't seen him since last week's party."

Felix who was scrolling through his phone, looked up. "I texted him yesterday, but he didn't respond. That's not like him."

Asher frowned. "I know he's been dealing with some family drama, but it's weird that he wouldn't show up to classes or respond to our texts."

Ethan nodded in agreement. "And it's not like him to miss a party. He's always the life of the party."

Felix put his phone down. "I'll try to reach out to him again. Maybe he's just going through a tough time."

The three friends sat in silence for a moment, wondering what could be going on with Lucas before they were interrupted by sounds of high heels.

Auxillia sauntered over to the table, her designer heels clicking on the polished floor. Her long, curly blonde hair cascaded down her back, and her bright blue eyes sparkled with warmth. As the undisputed school belle, Auxillia was accustomed to turning heads.

Born into one of Nexus City's wealthiest families, Auxillia had grown up with every privilege imaginable. However, despite her picture-perfect life, she felt like something was missing - a boyfriend to share it with. And everyone in school knew that her sights were set on Lucas Russell.

But Lucas's treatment of Auxillia had always been lukewarm. He'd politely decline her invitations, and their conversations would remain superficial. Still, Auxillia held onto the hope that one day he'd come around and see her in a different light.

As she approached the table, Ethan, Asher, and Caleb looked up, exchanging knowing glances. Auxillia's eyes sparkled with excitement as she slid into the empty chair. "Hey, guys! What's going on?"

Ethan, Asher, and Caleb exchanged mischievous grins as Auxillia settled in.

"Hey, Auxillia, have you finally managed to snag Lucas's heart?" Ethan teased, wiggling his eyebrows.

Auxillia rolled her eyes, laughing. "Shut up, Ethan."

Asher chimed in, "Or maybe Lucas is just playing hard to get, huh?"

Felix snickered, "Yeah, because nothing says 'hard to get' like ignoring Auxillia's texts."

Auxillia playfully swatted at Felix's arm. "You guys are impossible."

Ethan leaned in, a cheesy grin plastered on his face. "Hey, Auxillia, maybe you should try writing Lucas a love poem. That'll surely win him over."

Auxillia giggled, shaking her head. "You guys are ridiculous."

Though she said that her cheeks flushed red.

Despite the teasing, Auxillia's eyes sparkled with amusement. Deep down, she knew the guys were just joking, but a part of her still held onto the hope that Lucas might one day return her feelings.

The four of them grew up together, both coming from well do families, though Felixs situation is a little different from the three,it didn't stop him from befriending the three.

Just as they were talking someone joined the table as well.

Troy's gaze locked onto Auxillia's smiling face as she chatted with her friends about Lucas. His annoyance simmered just below the surface, fueled by the fact that Auxillia's eyes sparkled whenever she mentioned Lucas's name.

Since he was sitting across them and heard their conversation he couldn't stand it and came to cause trouble.

"I'm sure Lucas would be thrilled to know you're still pining for him, Auxillia," Troy said, his voice laced with sarcasm, while sitting on an empty seat across Auxillia.

Auxillia's smile faltered, and she turned to face Troy with annoyance on her face. "What's your problem, Troy?"

Troy's smirk grew wider. "My problem is that Lucas is currently at the hospital, begging for help like a beggar. I'm sure you'll be delighted to know that your precious Lucas is in such a pitiful state."

The table fell silent, with Ethan, Asher, and Caleb exchanging angry glances. Felix's fists clenched, and for a moment, it seemed like he might punch Troy.

However, their anger was quickly replaced by concern for Lucas. Auxillia's eyes widened, and she looked like she'd been punched in the gut.

"What's wrong with Lucas?" Ethan demanded, his voice low and even.

Troy shrugged, his smirk still plastered on his face. "No idea. But I'm sure Auxillia will be eager to rush to his side and nurse him back to health."

With that, Troy turned and walked away, leaving the four friends staring after him in a mix of anger and concern.

" Let's go see what's going on, are you guys coming." Felix got up from his seat while asking

" Is that even a question "

Auxillia got up and left directly, seeing this they all followed her out.
