Diagon Alley Pt. 2

Hyacinth POV

We managed to pull ourselves from the crowd only to wind up directly in front of one Gilderoy Lockhart. I had just been pushed to the side by the photographer from the Daily Profit when I heard Mr. Lockhart say, "It can't be, is that Hyacinth Potter?" and I groaned because the last thing I want is to be shoved into the spot light. The next thing I know I am being dragged up to the front of the crowd by the photographer who passes me off to the author guy who tries to pose with me for a picture. His hand on my shoulder was giving me the creeps, it was right before the camera went off that Dad threw a stinging hex at the man holding me to his side a little to tightly for my taste. Dad shouted, "Get your filthy hands off my daughter Lockhart, and you paper boy keep her name out of the papers you know the law. All stories about a heir to an ancient family needs to be approved by their head of house and I don't approve. Lets get somethings straight while I'm at it all the stories published using her name while I was wrongfully incarcerated will be removed and all profits made for them will be paid in full to the Potter account manager or you will be hearing from me."

I tried to get free from the creepy man while Dad was talking but he just wouldn't let go so I stomped on his foot and ran into Dad's arms and said, "Thanks Dad I was incredibly uncomfortable up there." Dad just smiled and kissed my head before he said, "Anytime princess, anytime. No one touches my daughter without her approval."

I nodded my head an buried myself deeper in his hold, his hugs always make me feel better. That's when creepy writer guy decided to speak "I meant no Offence sir I am going to be teaching at Hogwarts this year and thought the public would like to know that the Great Gilderoy Lockhart will be teaching the Girl Who Lived." I groaned at that, I really hate that name Dad must to because he said, "I ask you not to used that name because she was just a baby when it was given, Lily was the one who saved her daughter. Also that name props up my daughter for simply surviving the very same tragedy that killed her parents. We do not celebrate the death of her parents even if the byproduct was the death of a racist idiot." The crowd literally gasped at Dad's declaration about the dumb lord. It was at this moment that someone rushed forward while casting a Bombardia at Dad, he quickly threw up a Protego while spinning me until I was behind him. Uncle Remus came up behind the attacker and cast a Petrificus Totalus causing the man to fall flat on his face right when 2 Aurors showed up.

It was chaos after that, most people had fled when the first spell was fired but some stayed to watch the drama and good thing to cause it seemed like one of the Aurors had it out for Dad. He even tried to arrest him as well which was only stopped by a few bystanders and Mr. Weasley. I was fuming as I clung onto my Dad's arm afraid that if I let go he would be taken from mean I was not about to let that happen. After our eye witness accounts were taken we left the alley with out shopping done for the day. I didn't want to spend even a second more in the open afraid of losing my Dad. We made it back to Grandma Augusta's house and collapsed onto various chairs and sofa's around the sitting room exhausted. Dinner was a quiet affair that led into a somber night I refused to sleep in my own room and climbed into Dad's bed for the first time in my life seeking comfort in his arms as I drifted off to sleep.

The next day was better Dad took me back to Diagon Alley just the two of us we had a simple disguise so as not to draw attention. We bought the rest of the books I needed for school minus Lockhart's books cause I refuse to give him any support after the way he kept rubbing my arm with his creepy hands, ugh! Just thinking of him gives me goosebumps and not the good kind. Dad also took me to the Magical trunk store because apparently the one that I got last year was just the basic model and Dad wanted me to have one that I could retreat into in case of any issues with people. I got a four compartment trunk with a storage room, wardrobe, small library and a master bedroom suite with an amazing bathroom all to myself. The storage room held all of the things I need for class like quills, parchment, potion ingredients, cauldrons, and my broom. The wardrobe held exactly what you think it would my clothes and shoes as well as extra bags incase my book bag breaks. The library is my favorite though because Dad had all my school books placed inside as well as a hard copy of most of the Atlantean database. I also had some muggle classics on the shelf and some books from the infamous Black library that aren't on the banned list, there was also a study desk in the middle of the room with a small lounge chair tucked into one corner. Last but not least we had my master suite with an attached bathroom and a tub the size of a small swimming pool. It was stunning really and I couldn't wait to be able to use it at school. cold showers can only be tolerated for so long 'Thank you Lavender Brown' I thought sarcastically.

The last place on the list for Dad and I to visit was a small custom wand shop tucked into a corner of Horizon Alley which is harder to find than Knockturn Alley apparently. It is the alley for the rich which I am now thanks to Dad and my late parents, I just didn't know that. Apparently the vault I had access to with the key Hagrid had was my trust vault and that was not all the money I had. Dad and Uncle Moony had to explain things to me because before Dad took custody of me I was worried that I wouldn't have enough money to live off of once I got out of school. Dumbledore really dropped to ball in explaining the wizarding world to me as my magical guardian which made it even easier for Ms. Bones to rip his guardianship rights from him all together and not just his rights regarding me but of all the muggle born kids as well. Their magical guardianship was transferred over to the head of house without even notifying Dumbles which made Dad cackle in amusement.
