It's a weekday.
Miyuki noticed something strange about Kaori at school.
It was the way she sometimes sighed and sometimes giggled in the back seat.
Miyuki thought.
"Maybe she's bipolar or something?
Curious about the reason, Miyuki went up to the roof at lunchtime and sat down on a bench to ask Kaori.
"Kaori, I heard you at school today."
"Huh?"
"Sighing and laughing and sighing and laughing and.... What the hell happened?"
Kaori told Miyuki everything.
Except for the identity of her brother.
"Hmph. So the trainee got eliminated, but things went well with your brother, and you even kissed him for a few minutes?"
"Mm-hmm. Well, the second one I did because I wanted to...."
"That's great. I'm glad your relationship is going well...."
Miyuki shook her head, and Kaori asked cautiously.
"What about with your brother?"
"It's totally fucked up, I was mean, so I've decided to be a good little sister for who knows how long."
"I see...."
Kaori wanted to comfort Miyuki, but she couldn't find the words.
She just patted Miyuki's shoulder.
Miyuki changed the subject to make her feel better.
"Can't you tell me who that brother of yours is? I'm really curious to know if you like him...."
"No, I can't. It's not fair to tell me and not you!"
Miyuki shrugged.
"Okay. After all this, it's not like I can't show you a picture of my brother."
"Oh, really?"
Kaori was the one surprised by Miyuki's cool response.
Miyuki giggled.
"But don't be surprised. You'll be surprised to see how handsome my brother is."
"Oh! I can't wait! You know, the brother that Miyuki is so smitten with!"
"Wait a minute."
Miyuki fiddled with her phone as if selecting a photo.
Then she showed it to Kaori.
"Voila. This is my favorite picture of my sleeping brother. Isn't he gorgeous?"
"See how handsome... eh?"
Thump.
Kaori felt her heart drop like a stone.
In the photo, her brother had an ordinary face.
But it was a face she knew all too well.
"Oh, no.
The person she loved and adored was actually her best friend's best friend.
Kaori stiffened in shock for a moment, and Miyuki tilted her head in confusion.
"What's wrong, you don't like it?"
Kaori quickly recovered her expression and said.
"Oh, no, I, uh, you don't look like him, do you?"
"Eh? I think he's handsome."
"You don't look like him at all!"
Kaori blurted out, and Miyuki nodded.
"I hear that from a lot of girls. Now that I've shown you, Kaori, why don't you show me your crush's face?"
"...Sorry. I haven't gotten a picture yet."
"You kissed him and you didn't take a picture? Take a picture by tomorrow! Okay?"
Kaori nodded in response to Miyuki's determination.
Time passed when she didn't know whether the rice went into her mouth or her nose.
Kaori sat in class for the rest of the school day, confusion creeping into her head.
"What should I do?
A close friend loves her beloved brother equally.
You can't cheat on a dear friend.
One side of her thinks so.
"How will Miyuki react?
It was definitely unintentional, but knowing how much Miyuki loves her brother, Kaori couldn't imagine how angry she would be.
'I told her I even kissed her.... Of course, I heard that Miyuki did too....'
Kaori shook her head and thought to herself.
'Let's talk to Keigo first. Yeah.'
Kaori decided to see Keigo as soon as possible after school.
Meanwhile.
Miyuki glanced back at Kaori out of the corner of her eye as she was lost in thought.
'I'm so jealous of Kaorii's success. Maybe I should follow her around today and find out who she likes.
I felt bad for Kaori, but I doubted the credibility of her story about kissing him and not having a picture.
Kaori waved to Miyuki as soon as school was over and headed out the door.
A moment later, Miyuki sneaked up behind her and followed Kaori.
The coffee shop was unfamiliar.
Sitting in a corner, out of Kaori's sight, Miyuki waited for her date.
How long had it been, she wondered.
A familiar man in a Sangil High School uniform approached and sat down in front of Kaori.
His face was hidden by his back, but his back was very familiar.
Suddenly, Miyuki broke out in a cold sweat.
'No way....'
Miyuki shifted her seat slightly so that she could see the man's face.
It was me after all.
Miyuki was devastated.
Her hands trembled with betrayal.
The man her friend loved, the man she kissed, her brother, the man she swore she wouldn't betray, was seeing each other!
Miyuki bit her lip, swallowed three times to hold it together, and carefully got up from her seat and headed home.
Meanwhile, she brought up the subject of Kaori's real consultation with Keigo.
"Hey, big brother...."
"Huh? What's going on?"
Kaori stammered out the words.
"We... I think we're going to get into trouble if we meet."
"Suddenly?"
"Miyuki."
"Huh?"
"Your sister, Miyuki, is my best friend. I've heard her brag about you a lot, how much she loves you, and I've been supporting her behind the scenes.... Because of my greed, I met your brother and I want to have him... Miyuki will be very upset if she finds out."
"...I see."
If I want to help poor Kaori and she refuses, there's no point in meeting her.
What a strange coincidence, Keigo thought, that the Kaori she rescued was Miyuki's best friend.
"Alright, if that's what you mean, let's not meet for a while."
"Okay.... I'll have to tell Miyuki tomorrow that we're actually in love."
"Yeah. I'll tell Miyuki when I see her at home, too, and I won't hide it."
"Yes, please do, big brother."
Miyuki was precious to both of them.
But how furious she was.
They hadn't realized how much of her obsession was waiting for Keigo.
