Chapter 24. Meeting in the slums

— Hey, didn't the mood get too good here?

Suddenly, three tramps surrounded the child.

— Boy, what have you got there?

One of the ugly bandits reached out to check what Jacob was hiding under his shirt. At the same moment, the boy realized that there was nowhere to run. It was his miscalculation. He was usually careful enough to avoid situations where he might run into bandits. Although it didn't always work, thanks to his small stature, Jacob was most often able to escape and remain unharmed.

However, today, since he was so happy that he was finally able to get food for the past few days, he couldn't help but forget about his usual caution. He didn't even have time to escape before the tramps surrounded him from all sides.

In the end, Jacob couldn't put up the slightest resistance when a healthy man's hand, which was much stronger than his own, forcefully snatched away what he had worked so hard for today.
