Chapter 15 Luxe Noir

Dillon's action caused the eager eyes of the customers watching him turn to that of disdain. But what were they even expecting? A pig can't fly, can it?

"What is that? Don't even come up with the stuff about forgetting your card at home, it's lame and old. Were you really planning on absconding with the food?" James hissed in amusement.

"So you're not just poor, you're also a thief. That's probably how you managed to get yourself a new set of clothes. See, you should be thankful I warned you of him. Otherwise, you would've lost your job!" Rachel told the server who got Dillon's orders.

The server also got nervous. She wasn't new to this job, but she hadn't really heard of anyone who tried to pull such a stunt in a place filled with so many people, so she wasn't wary of it happening.

She was grateful to Rachel. Otherwise, her stupid oversight would've led to her being fired from a job that paid so well.

While James and Rachel had other mocking things to say, Dillon kept wondering whether he dropped his card somewhere or forgot it at home.

Suddenly, he recalled giving it to Merlin when they walked into the restaurant. Of course, that's it. Merlin forgot to give it back before hurrying off to the toilet.

"Mister, if you had no money to pay for this, then you shouldn't have wasted my time. Look behind you, you'll see tons of people waiting to be served. This wasn't funny." The server said with a deep frown.

Dillon raised his head and smiled apologetically at the server. He understood the server's reason for being upset.

A week ago, he'd also be upset if someone ordered things worth more than five thousand dollars only to claim not to have money.

"I'm sorry for wasting time. I forgot to take my card from a friend. If you don't mind, keep the things I bought aside, I'll fetch my card from him and come pay you. Once again, I apologize." Dillon apologized, taking a step out of the long line.

James soon thought of something and made a way too generous offer.

"What do you say if I pay for the things you bought in exchange for stripping naked?" James' suggestion caused students from Yale University who were around to whip out their phones.

Dillon getting disgraced was something they were used to now, but it was still exciting for them to watch people trample down on him.

Dillon clenched his jaw tightly. James' bold move made him realize the latter either hadn't come in contact with Moses recently, or Moses chose not to tell him and was planning a counter-attack.

"I don't need your help sorting out my bills. Although I know you didn't offer to do so because of the kindness of your heart." Dillon flatly refused.

The smirk on James' face fell, and he scoffed and proceeded towards Dillon. "I'm not kind, but I'm compassionate, and I tend to help out those in need. Given your social status, I don't think stripping naked for Five thousand dollars is a lot."

"Exactly, Dillon. If you look at it, no one would remember it in a few days to come, and you would rip James off five thousand dollars. That's a lot. Even for me." Rachel nodded, backing James up.

Dillon, who was more than three inches taller than James, looked down at the latter as he enunciated clearly, "Either way, I don't want your help."

"You bastard! How dare you turn me down? Are you looking for a good beating?" James seethed, reaching out to grab Dillon's collar.

However, before his hand could get to Dillon's neck, it was grabbed. Dillon flexibly flipped him across his shoulder and threw him to the ground.

"I said I don't need your help. What part of that do you not understand?" Dillon asked calmly, still maintaining his calm composure.

The students from Yale University, who were currently live-streaming as they looked forward to Dillon being beaten into a pulp, were stunned.

Most of them clearly witnessed the time James beat up Dillon after Dillon reportedly stole his package. They weren't the only ones shocked as the comment section was blowing up.

"Did Dillon Grendel just flip James Roderick to the floor without much hassle?"

"If this is a dream, someone should please wake me!"

"Did anyone see the look on James' face when he realized he had been thrown to the floor by Dillon? It was hilarious!"

"Just a few hours ago, Dillon Grendel was almost expelled for assaulting his roommate. Is he out of his mind getting into a fight with another student?! James Roderick at that!"

"That bastard must have a death wish. If the school doesn't expel him after this, the Roderick family will make his life a living hell."

James, who realized he had been thrown to the floor by Dillon, swiftly got up, now enraged more than ever.

The students recording zoomed on to his face and then at Dillon's unbothered face.

"Do you think I won't dare to beat you up simply because there are people around? You thought wrong!" James hissed and rushed towards Dillon.

James had a short temper, so he was either angry all the time or little things triggered him and someone like Dillon throwing him to the floor was a much bigger trigger.

Everyone expected what they termed would render Dillon unconscious or even kill him, but much to their surprise, the person who flew across the room into a wall was James.

James' eyes widened in shock and hatred when he realized one kick from Dillon sent him to such a depressing state.

"I wi..ll kil.l yo..you." He coughed out blood and fainted.

"James!" Rachel screamed in fright, rushing up to him. Her eyes glazed over when she realized he had fainted. "Wake up, James! Kill this bastard so we can get out of here."

Her attempts to wake him didn't work, so she got up and rushed towards Dillon. Whatever she intended to do didn't work as Merlin, who had emerged from the restroom, stood in her was.

Who knew his ten-minute break to the hospital would cause such a scuffle?

Merlin happened to see when Dillon sent James crashing towards the wall with one kick and shivered in admiration. His best friend wasn't only extremely wealthy, he was also strong.

Merlin recalled when he went after James, but one of James' friends who was way weaker than James kicked his ass.

So if a kick from Dillon knocked James unconscious, then that kick directed at him wouldn't just knock him unconscious, it'd kill him.

"Step away from that bastard! How dare he hit James!" Rachel screamed as her feeble fists connected with Merlin's chest.

Unlike Dillon who didn't manhandle women, Merlin was the direct opposite as he was someone who couldn't tolerate women who acted like Rachel.

He preferred to jug their memories a little bit about who they were dealing with and for those who insisted on a beating, he would just call a female to do the job.

So left with no choice, he directly shoved Rachel to the ground.

Rachel screamed in pain as her butt came in contact with the hard floor.

"I don't care what happened here and I sure as hell know you don't want to get on the Wright family's bad side. So turn off your darn cameras and delete whatever videos you made and those of you who witnessed it first hand better not say anything about this. Do you hear me?" Merlin ordered, glancing at the people around.

Like his threat wasn't enough, he directly had them delete the live stream videos being made even though he knew people on the internet would already be talking about Dillon and what he had done.

The paramedics were soon called and they took James away in a stretcher while they helped Rachel out of the hospital.

After everything was sorted out, Merlin handed the bank card to Dillon who went to pay for what he had gotten.

"Once again, I'm sorry for having you wait. Thank you for the food." Dillon told the server as he took what he bought and left.

Both the cashier and server were left speechless. That guy just knocked someone unconscious and turned out to be richer than everyone thought, yet he still apologized. What a rare gem!

"What took you so long?" Dillon asked as Merlin took some of the food from Dillon with a wide smile.

"I saw someone extremely stunning and beautiful on my way back. She was beating up some bad guys, so I stayed behind to watch. I think she'd be your type." Merlin responded, opening one of the bags to inhale the delicious smell from the food.

"You don't find me a girlfriend, I'm perfectly fine being single. I'll know my type when the time comes." Dillon chuckled, flagging down a taxi.

"Suit yourself." Merlin shrugged as a taxi stopped before them.

On the way, the driver kept glancing in the rearview mirror that Merlin couldn't take it any longer and asked him what his problem was.

"The address your friend gave me appears to be wrong." The driver voiced out his thoughts.

"Wrong? Why would I give you the wrong address?" Dillon asked in surprise, opening his chat with Brayden.

He showed it to the driver, who sucked his teeth after he confirmed the address on the phone and stared at Dillon suspiciously.

"Is this your first time going there? Does it belong to someone you know?" The driver went ahead to ask, taking his eyes back to the road.

"It's my first time there. And it belongs to me." Dillon responded, and the driver suddenly braked.

The unexpected action caused some impact as Merlin, who had taken out a plate of food to eat, had it poured all over him and in the taxi.

"What the hell are you doing?" He asked in sheer annoyance. This plate alone cost well over five hundred dollars. How depressing.

"I'm sorry, did you say you own Luxe Noir?" The driver asked, turning to look at Dillon.

Dillon, who had never heard of that name before, nodded slightly, wondering why the driver kept looking at him suspiciously.

"Sorry, did you say Luxe Noir? As in the house which no one has been able to go into as soon as it was built because it wasn't for sale but even if it was, its price was far too high for anyone to buy without first seeing its decor?" Merlin asked as well, glancing at the driver and Dillon.

"Just take me inside." Dillon, who perceived the house Brayden had gotten for him was a big deal, told the driver.

"I'm sorry, but this is the farthest I can go." The driver shook his head.

He turned his attention to his front again and pointed at the gigantic gate Dillon and Merlin hadn't seen earlier.

"The gate is an electronic gate, but the moment I drive through it, the camera attached to it would capture my license plate number and my taxi will be confiscated for going in there."

"Oh, I see. In that case, we'll just come down here." Dillon smiled and got down from the car. He took out his wallet and took out five hundred dollar bills and gave it to the driver. "For our fare and for the mess my friend made at the back."

Seeing the amount being given to him, the driver came out of his taxi and bowed to Dillon in appreciation before getting back into his car and driving out.

As soon as he was gone, Merlin and Dillon both walked straight to the electronic gate, which slid open for them to get in.

"Have you been here before?" Dillon asked, looking around.

"I don't think anyone other than the owner of this place and the architects of this place has been here before."

"It looks like an estate, if no one has ever been here before, doesn't that mean I own the whole estate? Of course, that's what it means." Dillon asked and answered his question.

Just then his phone pinged with a message from Brayden which read, "Good news, young master. Your Jaguar is ready, and I'll have it delivered to you before you wake up tomorrow."

Meanwhile, at that moment, the disciplinary committee members sat around their round table all clamoring to get the student, Dillon Grendel, who continuously kept causing trouble, expelled.

However, their chairman, a man who went by the name Michael Wolf, was having none of that.
