Chapter 6: The Mysterious Warning

As they left the archive room, Ethan couldn't shake off Mrs. Jenkins' ominous warning.

"What did she mean by 'forces beyond our control'?" Ethan asked.

Ava frowned. "I think she's hiding something."

Lew nodded. "We need to investigate Mrs. Jenkins' past."

Emily pulled out her notebook. "I'll dig up some information."

As they walked through Ravenswood's streets, the group noticed a figure watching them from the shadows.

"Who's that?" Ethan asked, nodding toward the figure.

Lew's eyes narrowed. "I'll check."

Lew approached the figure, who revealed himself as Alex, a former town council member.

"I've been watching you," Alex said. "You're getting close to the truth. Be careful."

Ava stepped forward. "What truth?"

Alex glanced around nervously. "The Shadow is real. It's been awakened. You're in danger."

Ethan's grip on his phone tightened. "What do you know about the Ravenswood Ripper?"

Alex's voice dropped to a whisper. "It's not just a killer. It's a symptom of something darker. Leave Ravenswood while you still can."

As Alex disappeared into the night, the group exchanged uneasy glances.

"What have we gotten ourselves into?" Emily asked.

Lew's expression turned resolute. "We'll uncover the truth, no matter what."

Ava's eyes sparkled. "We need to research the Shadow's origins."

Ethan nodded. "And find a way to stop it."

The group began to brainstorm, unaware of the eyes watching them from the darkness.
