When Cate and Simon got to the suit, it looked to have powered back up and was beginning to sit up. The two stopped 3 meters away from the suit and scrutinized its details.
The first thing they noticed was that the suit might not have been as badly damaged as they initially assumed, only some scrapes here and there. Focusing on the suit itself, it was humanoid in shape with no extra limbs or anything that could differentiate it from a human body. The suit's outer shell shifted between blue and black as the light adjusted due to its movements. The only consistent color was the silvery-grey scheme on its inner shell. The whole thing was relatively short, about 5'9", and made of a weird metal
"Is that… Iron Man?" Simon muttered just enough for Cate to hear, "I don' wanna but I can kinda see that too..."
It took a short moment and a shove from Simon but Cate finally gathered her courage and slowly walked a little closer. "Hello, my name is Cate, Cate Hope." She spoke in a tone different from her normal one.
She got no response, the suit continued to stare at the ground below it.
Seeing that she continued to step closer, now stopping 5 feet away, and continued, "I would like to ask a couple of questions if that would be alright? Can you understand me?"
She still got no response, though it looked at her this time, but it still didn't respond.
"Hey, don't get any closer ok?" Simon spoke up and told Cate. He cautiously walked next to Cate.
It was then the suit suddenly shot up from the ground and began quickly looking at its surroundings. The suit focused on the two in front of it and took a stance looking as if it was preparing for a fight. Seeing that, all the soldiers raised their guns including the Captain
"Hold your fire! Don't shoot!" Cate yelled at the top of her lungs as she stood, arms splayed out between Simon and the suit.
The soldiers glanced at the Captain for a sign. It took a moment before he finally relented. "*Sigh*... lower your guns, that's an order," Simon repeated to his soldiers before they also lowered their guns at the suit. Surprisingly the suit also stepped out of its fighting stance, seeing that everyone visibly relax a little and sighed in relief.
Cate continued her talk "Can you understand me?" The suit then tilted its head questioningly, "I guess not, ok how about this."
She then pointed at herself "Cate, Cate." She continued this three more times and then pointed at the suit. The suit seemed quick on the uptake but just when it looked like it was going to respond, it abruptly fell to its knees writhing. It was then that everyone finally heard it make a noise, the only problem was that it sounded to be in a terrible amount of pain.
Almost instinctively, Cate ran to the suit completely brushing off Simon, who tried to stop her from getting any closer to the writhing suit.
"Are you ok?! Hey, speak to me!"
"Cate put that thing down, it is still dangerous! Besides, look at it, I doubt it can hear you, let alone understand you!"
Cate ignored Simon and kept ahold of the suit. Doing that, she noticed a couple of things. The first thing is that it was actually pretty light, she was easily able to hold it up. Unfortunately though, the second was that there was serious some damage on the brunt of its leg and back that she and Simon missed.
The suit continued to hold its head for a few minutes before gradually letting go. It slowly looked up at Cate and realized that it was being held by her. This scared it and caused it quickly shuffled out of Cate's grasp and began standing up by itself.
It then looked at Cate and spoke for the first time.
"Ukaaaa… pamwa. Kotwa qe dom orogami?"
Everyone went still for just a moment.
"Did anyone get that?!"
"Shut up, will you!? The alien just spoke and you want to record it?!"
"Of fucking course I do! A real life alien just said… something."
"Will all of y'all shut up now? Simon, get your men to go do somethin' cuz I'm sure they're scarin' the alien."
"Woah, she just called it an alien to its face! How bold."
"Didn't you just do the same?"
"Pot, meet Kettle."
Simon could only sigh… "Alright now, back to your post. Brice and Cam, you two will stick with me just in case."
"Yessir!" x2
Cate, still on her knees looked back at the alien and just as she was going to ask more questions, the suit reached a hand out to help her up.
After she was up the suit reached for its helmet and slowly took it off. This stalled a lot of the soldiers from complying with Simon's command.
*Pshhhsssssst*
*Gasp!* xAlot!
"Holy shit, is this a fantasy novel or a sci-fi one?"
"The fuck you mean by that?"
"It's just… Isn't that a Dark Elf?! That's fantasy stuff!"
"Girl… You need to lay off those old isekai novels or you'll seriously lose the rest of your brain."
"No no. She's got a point."
"Yeah! We've just seen a real life dark elf in a sci-fi suit. I highly doubt those books got anything on this."
"Alright! Alright! You've all seen the alien now, so get back to your post!" Simon snapped at his soldiers, "And no pictures!"
"Ahh c'mon!"
"Yeah! Look at those eyes! You've gotta at least let me take one picture, please Captain?!"
A vein formed on his temple, "No, now if I repeat myself again you all will be doing triple time for the next week."
This comment really worked since the soldiers quickly shuffled back to their respective posts. But not before leaving a few more comments.
"Sir! Please remember to take some pictures for the rest of us, sir!"
"Sir! Really focus on the eyes, sir!"
Simon sighed once more, "I swear these soldiers of mine are going to have me die of asphyxiation one day."
"That just means your soldiers really care and respect you, Captain Simon." A voice appeared from behind him. This startled Simon so much so that he raised his rifle again and quickly turned around.
"No need for that, it is just me Captain." Dr. Z said with her hands raised.
Simon lowered his rifle. "Well, given the predicament we're currently in, you can't exactly blame me right?"
Dr Z nodded, "Indeed I not Captain, though I do recommend you check on your friend. She seems to have fainted standing up." She then pointed at Cate, who was still as a board, staring at the alien. The alien looked visibly uncomfortable and was distracting itself with something on its wrist.
Simon walked over to check on Cate, "Hey Cate are you ok?"
"cu…"
"What?"
"Oh my god, it's so cute!!!"
Her eyes practically had stars in them with how excited she was.
Simon scrunched his face. "Cate, really? I mean sure but I don't think that should be our priority right now."
"OH~ jealous now ain't we~?! Just look at this little thing, it's adorable! I wanna pet it!"
"Cate I think you should go to Dr. Z for a checkup. You just touched an alien and could have gotten something from it."
"I'm perfectly fine, I'll have ya know! You should know me well enough to know I like cute small things."
"*Sigh*... touché, but just in case alright? I'll be right here with the alien."
It was then that the 'alien', which was still tapping on its wrist console suddenly dropped once more. Dr. Z was the first to run over to it and check for its vitals.
She then looked at the pair with a neutral face, "Well good news is that it has a pulse which means it is most likely still alive. But we should bring it to the tent anyway. I don't know if it's in danger or not given it's not of this world."
Simon looked at the two soldiers who watching this whole scene play out. "Brice, I need you to help me carry it to the tent. Cam, you stay here and watch the area."
"Yessir!" x2
The two proceeded to lift the unconscious alien to the tent. Dr. Z still doing all the medical checks she could with the suit in the way and Cate following the three, carried the helmet that was dropped by the alien when it fell.
Carrying the oddly light alien, Simon looked at the alien's face once more, "So this is what aliens look like?" He muttered to himself.
The alien had a chocolate milk skin tone with golden freckles. Draped with shoulder-length curly bright blue hair, at the ends of which was a pintura of black and white. Poking out of their oddly colored hair were two sharp ears pointing out from each side of their head. But probably the most unique attribute was the eyes, a bright violet that seemingly shined when you looked into them, and a dark black sclera making the irises just that much brighter. It was hard not to lose yourself in these eyes, but probably the scary part was that it felt as if some 'thing', was watching, lurking.
All in all the best word to describe the alien was, EXOTIC!
—Shortly after the suit had woken up —
Dr. Z slowly walked over to the organized formation of soldiers and muttered "It seems that the suit has finally woken up, I wonder if it would appreciate if I took a few samples from it."
The soldiers were lined up around the crash site in two rows. The soldiers were all holding their guns but not pointing them at the suit, murmurs were going on throughout the formation.
"Hey, do you think it was really gonna attack us?"
"I dunno man, maybe. Honestly, I would too if I was surrounded by strangers."
"Yeah, let alone aliens."
"But it's the alien?"
"Are you dumb? To it, WE are the aliens."
"Ohhh… you right, you right."
Reaching the crowd of soldiers, they blocked the doctor from getting close to the captain and cop. A slight frown surfaced on Dr. Z's face before quickly disappearing. She tapped the closest soldier's shoulder.
The soldier looked back and noticed that it was one of the doctors, "Ah! Sorry miss, let me help you get closer. Ahem, oi! The doctor is trying to come through, we need to move."
Dr. Z only nodded at the soldier and watched as the large group quickly and quietly split just enough for her to walk through.
"It seems you've all been properly trained by the Captain haven't you?"
One of them responded, "Of course ma'am. He does his job well and treats us fair. It's only fair we do the same right?"
Dr. Z nodded again, "Indeed. Well, I must hurry so I can check up on this suit of armor."
As she then walked through the path given to her, she heard a scream coming from where she needed to be and quickened her pace, her footsteps a bit too quiet.
When she got to the site the first thing she saw was the suit being held by the cop as it writhed holding its head. Just as she opened her mouth the suit shot out of the cop's arms, leaving her on the floor, and began talking.
"Ukaaaa… pamwa. Kotwa qe dom orogami?"
Even more murmurs started going around between the soldiers. Dr. Z though wasn't listening to any of it since she was busy thinking and muttering to herself.
"Well, whatever it is it's sentient, so Jeffrey is correct on that part, let's wait and see if he stays correct."
She stayed zoned out and muttering to herself until an unrecognizable noise snapped her out of it.
*Pshhhsssst!*
Silence.
Then bustling noises, but that didn't bother the doctor as she pulled out a notebook from her hazmat suit, seemingly forgetting or ignoring her past remarks on possible infections, and started scribbling details on what the alien looked like.
Dr. Z kept on with this until she smirked in satisfaction, closed the notebook, and looked around.
"I swear these soldiers of mine are going to have me die of asphyxiation one day." Dr. Z heard Simon try to mutter to himself. Dr. Z erased her smirk returning to her neutral one and silently walked closer to him.
"That just means your soldiers really care and respect you, Captain Simon."
—------
Not too far away Brice and Cam were talking to each other while staring at the frozen Cate and then back at the alien.
"Hey bro, did you see that? She actually touched the alien like it was nothing!"
"I know right!? I'm really envious, do you think that it'll let me touch too?"
"Hell no! Did you see how it reacted to her when it realized what happened, I bet you it must be embarrassed."
Cam paused before letting out a sharp sigh, "Do you think it's a girl, I mean look at that face I bet you it's a girl alien."
Brice elbowed his friend. "Do you really think that aliens have a gender? I bet you there's nothing down there and they birth through asexual reproduction."
Cam looked at his friend with shock. "Bro… when did you start using big words all of a sudden? Last I checked we were both solid B and Cs students."
"Well, biology is actually a fun hobby of mine. It keeps me entertained and you never know. Maybe one day it will be of use in the future."
For some reason this annoyed Cam. "That's why you're Bi and still can't get no one. How can you leave your best bud out of all this, aren't we in this together?! I can't believe it!" Cam huffed and refused to look at Brice.
Brice looked shocked, "You bastard, I can't get anyone because you won't lay off my back and telling off all the people I try to date!"
"Is that all you heard, you can't even hear me all the way and expect people to like you! And besides, you have bad taste, remember that one girl who tried to use you to take her on expensive dates?"
"Yeah well, what about that one guy who got me flowers, he was nice. There was also that other guy who sent me random texts and always bought me flowers, I like flowers. Oh, and what about the last girl I dated? She seemed to really care about me."
"The first one used you to get some girl jealous, the second only sent a text to know where you were and gave you flowers when he cheated on you, and the last one was trying to make the first one jealous. Like how did you get caught up in that, and I know you like flowers that's why I get you some every now and then." Cam said all this with a solemn face.
Brice was sweating at this point, "Yeah well, you aren't with anyone! And you aren't getting any more of my gum!"
"That's by choice and you know it! *sigh*, face it man, you have bad taste."
Brice frowned even harder and opened his mouth to retort that.
*Thump*
The two looked to see what had just happened and when they did they saw the doctor checking for the aliens' vitals.
That is when they heard the captain, "Brice, I need you to help me carry it to the tent. Cam, you stay here and watch the area."
"Yessir!" The two yelled back
Brice and Cam silently looked at each other, Brice smiled smugly before doing as commanded.
Cam looked at the group as they took the alien to the medical tent.
"Lucky bastard…"

Kid woke up with a major headache. 'Ughh… why do keep passing out, this seriously is not fun' He thought to himself.
'Well, now I seem to be in a new location with white everywhere.'
He looked down at himself and noticed that he wasn't wearing his exosuit. This shocked him awake causing him to remember what was going on.
'Right! I crash landed with Nyx and that energon bird in my chest pockets! Where is Note*2, they should still be in there!'
It didn't take him long to spot his exosuit in the corner, currently off. Kid sighed in relief 'It must've initiated disengage mode. If that's the case I guess I'm safe, wherever I am.'
He looked some more and found the traitor maid next to him asleep, remembering what she did made him frown but he decided he'd have to deal with her at a later date. Right now he was still in possible enemy territory, even if his exosuit deemed otherwise.
Suddenly his ears twitched, a noise was coming from behind the only door in the room!
*clack* *clack* *clack*
Then, silence.
Kid swallowed deeply, "Hello?"
'Really Kid!? Hello?! Why don't you get up and do something!'
But it was too late the door was already opening!
