Chapter 3: Are There Any Radishes?

When they had come at night, they had already found a secret passage in the basement, but there was nothing suspicious inside except for Tang Xiaowan.

The team leader even praised them for it, saying that once they returned to Jin City, everyone would receive a reward.

Now they had discovered another one!

The desire to win was instantly aroused.

"Quickly find the entrance, it's definitely nearby; I reckon, it shouldn't be too far away."

"Right, right, right, search quickly."

"This Mei Garden really is unfathomable—with its birds singing and flowers fragrant, there are so many secret passages!"

The detection officer pondered and took another glance at the machine and then back at the suspicious area.

"But maybe..."

Lin Ping patted his shoulder twice, then turned to the others: "All right, all right, the danger is cleared, you should quickly get ready. Brother Shen said that everyone will retreat in 20 minutes."

"It's not possible, we haven't received the notification yet."

Lin Ping chuckled, "You really are stubborn. Do you think I would deceive you?"

Looking at the large red bucket next to her, Tang Xiaowan couldn't help but smile with pride.

Just then, Li Zishen arrived at a leisurely pace.

He glanced at Tang Xiaowan's slender legs and the bucket filled with fish, his lips slightly curling, "Not bad, enough for a hearty meal!"

Tang Xiaowan slowly set down the fishing rod; her pretty face quickly clouded over, as if it read: Stay away from me, or you'll regret it.

"Today, you can take a bath, but it's better not to shower. Remember to apply the healing salve on time."

After speaking, he gently placed the small gift box on the wooden round table, his phoenix-like eyes full of indulgence and joy for the wound's recovery.

Tang Xiaowan turned away impatiently.

"What would you like for lunch?"

Li Garden was located in the suburbs, surrounded by all sorts of flowers and a large expanse of medicinal herbs.

Everywhere in the garden were rotatable high-definition cameras, monitoring around the clock. The proud Li Zishen didn't even need to step out of his study to effortlessly control every move of Tang Xiaowan.

However, there were exceptions, like the second floor, the only area not covered by surveillance.

To entertain Tang Xiaowan, Li Zishen had specially orchestrated a large-scale live-action game of black-clad agents chasing a little white rabbit just yesterday.

He even guided Tang Xiaowan through her phone on how to dodge and hide from afar.

Sadly, the outcome disappointed.

Without a single move from the black-clad bodyguards, the regular security staff of Li Garden found Tang Xiaowan's hiding place in just ten minutes.

Tang Xiaowan was so furious that she threw the phone, which had been gifted to her just half a day earlier, into the Lotus Pond.

While it may not be considered the height of luxury, it was not something that just anyone could get, requiring both a membership and connections.

Li Zishen was at the helm of Yishen Group.

The group involved finance, real estate, entertainment, medicine, and many other industries, possessing vast assets and a prominent reputation across the country.

Even when looked at on an international scale, it was a force to be reckoned with.

Therefore, the last thing he lacked was money.

What's more, Tang Xiaowan was his darling; what was a limited edition phone to him? Just change the color and gift another.

Ten minutes later, the heavy black iron gates Tang Xiaowan had been eagerly waiting for were finally opened.

A white van slowly entered the back garden, moving along the dedicated passage.

Tang Xiaowan ran towards it, her laughter bubbling over.

The screech of the brakes jolted the air, incredibly grating.

At the same time, two nearby security staff rushed over instantly, ready to spring into action, which made Tang Xiaowan snicker.

"Lady Tang, are you alright?"

"Oh, I'm fine, I'm fine, I just sat too long and wanted to stretch my legs a bit. You do your thing, don't mind me, go on, shoo."

"Yes, Lady Tang."

The security personnel nodded and quickly walked over to the van's driver, initiating a series of inquiries and stayed there until they were sure nothing was amiss before leaving.

Tang Xiaowan smiled wryly, touching her high-bridged nose.

She was well accustomed to such situations.

Meanwhile, the van's driver was drenched in sweat, his heartbeat racing, nearly jumping out of his throat.

Trembling, he stepped a few paces closer to Tang Xiaowan, head bowed, "Lady Tang, I'm sorry, I didn't see you coming, I'm new here, not familiar with Li Garden, I thought..."

"It's okay, it's okay, do you have radishes?"

"Er, what?"

The driver frowned, clearly confused.
