Chapter 41
Siglorr Bouldergrove nearly fell backward again after the smoke finally cleared; everything in front of the young man was destroyed and created a crater that was ten feet deep and twenty feet wide. The remains of the tree stump were gone; the devastation his attack created was equivalent to a tier 5 magic attack.
The man was standing firmly as thick, smoke-like tendrils were securing him from his spot , allowing him to rapidly cast spells without fearing the recoil of the force he had just unleashed. Even the dust, debris, smoke, and burning embers in the area were not an issue, as he was wearing a mask, and feathers were circling around him, like a barrier protecting him from any harm. The man's eyes glowed with power as he gradually withdrew his attack and saw the devastation he had caused, feeling a mix of satisfaction and guilt. Despite the destruction around him, he knew that his abilities were necessary to pass the Dwarf Siglorr Bouldergrove test.
Siglorr Bouldergrove ran toward him and dragged Dane away from the location, fearing that other players or worse, being seen by the representatives working for nobles, Siglorr Bouldergrove wouldn't let another person get him, as he was a valuable asset inside the tower now, and with his connection with this young player, he could achieve great things together. As they fled the scene,
Dane couldn't shake the feeling of responsibility for the chaos he had caused, but the Dwarf Siglorr Bouldergrove assured him it was a small penalty to meet a gisted player.
"Young man, you know my name, but you haven't introduced yourself."
"Oh, sorry about that. I am Dane Lazarus."
"Huh! Another Lazarus? You keep producing monstrous talent."
"Do you know our clan?"
"Dane, honestly, you haven't even chipped the tip of the iceberg here."
"Here I think this is far enough. "
"Look, Master Dane, he needs to settle this first. I want to gain an exclusive contract on you."
"What do you mean, you will only hunt for me?"
"Ah, that sadly I have to decline!"
"What! Why??"
"I never like to get tied into a single thing. Working for you will hinder my main task?
"I can make you rich. I am willing to split whatever I make 70-30."
"Sadly, I am not into money or riches. I came here to fulfill my purpose and complete my mission. Money is not my motivation; only the thrill of the hunt drives me."
"Oh well, I tried. Like your other kin, you, Lazarus, are really hard to persuade. I respect your dedication to your mission and wish you the best of luck in your endeavors."
"I wanted to rebuild my clan, forging honor. I was hoping you could fill the role of our main hunter and help manage obtaining the materials ."
"I believe your skills would have been a valuable asset to our guild, but I understand and respect your decision. If you ever change your mind or find yourself in need of assistance, do not hesitate to reach out."
"Here, take this. This is an official quest document. Sign this, and you have the exclusive right over the salamander hunt."
"Accomplish this, and I will give you an extra reward."
"Those salamanders usually nest near the cursed forest. Don't worry; the nasty creatures are smart enough not to enter that toxic place."
"If you travel at the far edge of the forest, you will come across a rocky outcrop where the salamanders like to bask in the sun. Just be cautious, as they can be quite fast."
Siglorr Bouldergrove reached into his pocket and took out two small identical sack bags. He explained that the identical sack bag was a very high-tier artifact that his clan treasured; it was a transfer bag. He gave the other bag to Dane and explained that the one he was holding was named "Mouth, Siglorr Bouldergrove. The sack bag Dane was holding had a dark lace, while the one he was holding had a white lace. He added that the sack's main abilities are used for material transfer; unlike transfer scrolls that are so expensive, this was far more effective. ,
"Any item you plan on your sack will instantly be transported to this sack and vice versa."
"Beware, you can't place living things inside , as it won't function at all; that's only an issue, but if used wisely, it can be a great help for each of us."
"Imagine obtaining supplies and material and transporting them to me instantly."
"Why are you trusting me with such an item?"
"Because what I saw was not ordinary, your ability to maximize your skill is different; unlike other players, they tend to overcompensate on other factors and not truly see what is important."
"and take this,"
"What's this?"
"This ring is a prototype item. it works as a distorter. I made it to trick others into thinking your mana is low, i am a Dwarf , and seeing mana comes naturally with us , and you have a lot of mana in your body."
"Many mana or skill distorters are sold in the merchant guilds, but you need to constantly feed it with your mana while the function , unlike this one, which uses a unique mechanism to constantly loop the mana you feed it and draws small residual mana in the surrounding area to continuously power itself. It's a much more efficient and discreet way to maintain a high mana level without drawing attention to yourself."
"With this, you manipulate the perception of others without draining your own mana reserves. This prototype ring is a game-changer in the world of distorters and could give you a significant advantage in battle."
"I'm not sure how, but I could see that your mana level gets replenished each time you fire an attack spell, as if your body is automatically producing mana, at a very fast rate ,"
"High mana core capacity no matter how huge they are will eventually get emptied by constant use.,"
"But your mana core is different; indeed, you are a high mana core. You might even be on par with a high tier mage."
"But I compared your attack and mana consumption, Dane. We Dwarven race have a skill in these things. The rapid attack, I counted nearly past a hundred fire bullets hitting the tree stump.i am not ever sure if my count was even near what you actually fired."
"But comparing that to those high mage attacks , their similar attack would cost them nearly 70 percent of their mana energy, leaving them with just 30 percent to defend or attack."
"You mana gets replenished 10 percent after 5 percent consumption every 5 seconds."
"My golden eye skill nearly broke my vision. I saw that your energy was like infinite.,"
"It's not that fatal if you get hit by a low-tier level 1 fire bullet , but getting hit 4000 times in a minute can kill a dragon with just ten minutes."
"It's important to strategize and manage your mana efficiently in battles to ensure you have enough energy for defense and offense."
"Additionally, understanding the impact of repeated low-tier attacks can be just as deadly as a single high-tier attack."
"Do you understand now? So please hide your ability. I don't know how strong you can get in the near future , but I want to bear witness to your growth."
"Siglorr Bouldergrove, thank you for being kind. How about this: if I can't work for you in an exclusive manner, how about we become partners? "
"and establish the strongest forge guild, I will supply you with all the materials you need."
"Dane Lazarus, you got yourself a deal. I, Siglorr Bouldergrove, swore upon my clan we are more than partners; we are bound by fire and blood."
"To seal this deal, I better uphold my first task from my partner."
"Stand still, Dane. I learned a teleportation spell from one of those high-nosed elves."
"This spell is very useful; I just need to focus on the location by sight and activate it."
"Huh? That's new. Why not just use a transfer scroll?"
"It's as good as those transfer scrolls."
"The cursed forest is a day's travel in that direction," Siglorr pointed at the direction.
"Plus, using magic is more discreet than carrying around scrolls that can be easily stolen or lost," Dane remarked. "Let's get moving then; time is of the essence," Siglorr urged as they prepared to embark on his journey through the cursed forest.
"You will get teleported a few meters away from the desired target, but it's cheaper than those 10 gold coin transfer scrolls."
"Aren't you saying you are just cheap?!"
"I am not cheap, Dane; I am just currently lacking gold!"
"Here we go, wish me luck, Siglorr Bouldergrove"."
"You don't need luck, partner."
