Gu Nianxi was on the verge of tears as she turned to Ye Chen. "Brother Ye Chen, Meng Fei's brother is in fourth grade. He's older than us and really good at fighting. What should we do?"
She was worried her brother Ye Chen would be bullied.
Ye Chen gently patted her little head and said in a soft voice, "Don't be scared. It's just a group of little kids. It's no big deal."
Little kids? Gu Nianxi looked confused. Brother Ye Chen, aren't we little kids too?
The Chinese teacher entered the classroom, holding the lesson plan, and began the class. He was still in disbelief over Ye Chen's performance yesterday. This student, who had always been seen as a poor learner, seemed like a completely different person now.
The teacher had asked several questions during the previous class, and Ye Chen had answered them all without hesitation.
While grading homework submitted by the group leader, the teacher specifically checked Ye Chen's work. Though the handwriting was the same as before, the content was completely different—every answer was correct.
Could Ye Chen's parents have secretly enrolled him in a tutoring class?
With this suspicion in mind, the teacher continued the lesson. After class, he called Ye Chen over. "Ye Chen, come here for a moment."
The other students immediately assumed that Ye Chen must have gotten into trouble again. Meng Fei looked smug, thinking there was no need to call his brother to deal with Ye Chen. The teacher would take care of him instead.

In the Teacher's Office
The Chinese teacher sat down and opened Ye Chen's homework, placing it in front of him. "Ye Chen, be honest with me. Did you do this by yourself?"
He was still doubtful and wanted to make sure Ye Chen wasn't heading down the wrong path, which could ruin his future.
"Yes, I did it myself," Ye Chen replied calmly.
The teacher, knowing Ye Chen's poor academic history, couldn't believe it. Previously, Ye Chen's homework had always been a mess. But now, every answer was correct. Surely, someone must have given him the answers, or he had copied them from somewhere.
"Ye Chen, if you don't tell me the truth, I'll have to call your parents," the teacher said sternly, frustrated that Ye Chen wasn't being forthcoming.
"Teacher, I did this myself. If you don't believe me, there's nothing I can do," Ye Chen said.
With a slap, the teacher placed a test paper on the table. "Do this paper. If you score 70 or above, I'll believe you."
Ye Chen glanced at the test paper. It was a third-grade Chinese test.
He picked up a pen and began answering the questions under the teacher's scrutinizing gaze. He didn't even use scratch paper; he simply wrote down the answers directly.
From start to finish, including the essay question, he took only ten minutes to complete it.
The teacher was stunned. What was going on? Only ten minutes? Was he serious?
"Teacher, please review it," Ye Chen said calmly as he handed the paper over.
The teacher, skeptical, started grading it carefully, thinking Ye Chen might have written nonsense. But as he reviewed each answer, his shock grew.
Every answer was correct. Not a single mistake. This was incredible!
The Ye Chen he knew had been a terrible student!
"Ding! Congratulations, Host. You've amazed the Chinese teacher. Admiration Points +10!"
"Ding! Congratulations, Host. You've amazed the Chinese teacher. Admiration Points +20!"
As Ye Chen collected admiration points, he was secretly delighted. So, this was another way to earn admiration points.
"Ye Chen, did your parents sign you up for tutoring classes?" the teacher asked, still astonished. If this test had been part of an official exam, Ye Chen would have scored a perfect 100.
Ye Chen shrugged. "No."
"Then how did your grades improve so quickly?!" The teacher was baffled. This didn't make sense!
"I bought a lot of study materials, and my dad helped tutor me," Ye Chen explained. The excuse was so perfect that even he wanted to praise himself for coming up with it.
"So that's it! No wonder your grades have improved so much. Good job. Keep it up!" The teacher patted Ye Chen's shoulder.

Back in the Classroom
When Ye Chen returned to the classroom, Gu Nianxi was anxiously waiting. She immediately asked, "Brother Ye Chen, did the teacher scold you?"
Ye Chen smiled. "No, the teacher even praised me!"
Hearing this, Meng Fei burst out laughing. "Praised you? That's hilarious. Everyone in our class knows you're terrible at school. You're always last in exams. Praised you? You're just bragging."
During the second Chinese lesson of the day, the teacher handed back the graded homework and specifically praised Ye Chen by name.
Hearing this, Meng Fei couldn't believe it. Ye Chen had always been last in class, while he was second to last. If Ye Chen's grades improved, wouldn't that make him the last?
Frustrated, Meng Fei stood up and accused Ye Chen. "Teacher, he must have copied someone's homework. I even saw him copying… copying Gu Nianxi's!" His voice trailed off toward the end.
"Teacher, Meng Fei is lying! Brother Ye Chen didn't copy my homework," Gu Nianxi quickly stood up to defend Ye Chen. Brother Ye Chen had never copied her homework. She had even offered to let him copy, but he refused.
Meng Fei was so annoying! Hmph!
Looking at her puffed-up cheeks, Ye Chen thought she looked absolutely adorable. If it weren't during class, he would have pinched her cheeks.
The teacher, understanding the situation, said sternly, "Meng Fei, you should learn from Ye Chen and improve your own studies."
Meng Fei's eyes widened in disbelief. Why was the teacher not reprimanding Ye Chen but instead telling him to learn from Ye Chen?
No way! Why should he, second-to-last, learn from the last place student?
Hmph!

After School
When the school day ended, Gu Nianxi packed her bag and looked at Ye Chen. "Brother Ye Chen, let's go home."
Looking at her adorable face, Ye Chen reached out and pinched her cheek gently, his expression full of affection.
"Brother Ye Chen, why are you always pinching my face? You're going to make me ugly," she complained, pouting.
Ye Chen chuckled. "How could you be ugly? In my eyes, you're the most beautiful!"
Gu Nianxi's eyes lit up with joy. "Really?" At her age, little girls loved being complimented. Her cheeks flushed red like ripe apples, making her look even more endearing.
Ye Chen smiled. "Really."
Hearing this, Gu Nianxi was overjoyed, her face glowing with happiness. She liked Brother Ye Chen the most!
Ye Chen said, "Nianxi, I have something to take care of. Do you want to head home by yourself?"
"Brother Ye Chen, where are you going?" She blinked her big, bright eyes curiously. After thinking for a moment, she added, "Can I come with you?"
