Chapter 11: Bullying Her Daughter-in-Law? Not Allowed!

On the way home, Gu Nianxi kept staring at the broken hair clip, her eyes red with tears. Meng Fei was just too hateful.

Ye Chen patted her head gently. "It's okay. At worst, I'll buy you another one."

"But Brother Ye Chen, you just gave it to me yesterday..." she said, her voice filled with guilt.

This was the first gift Brother Ye Chen had given her, and it held great significance in her heart.

Ye Chen could tell how much the little girl valued it. After thinking for a moment, he said, "Xiao Xi, let me take a look at the hair clip."

Gu Nianxi carefully handed it to him.

After examining it, Ye Chen said, "I'll see if I can fix it with some glue when we get home."

---

On their way back, Ye Chen bought a tube of super glue from a small shop. When they got home, he went straight to his room to work on repairing the clip. It was clear how much Xiao Xi cherished it.

After about ten minutes, Ye Chen managed to reattach the broken bunny charm to the clip. Smiling in satisfaction, he thought it looked as good as new.

Now that he had a closer look, the hair clip was quite cute. No wonder the little girl liked it—at her age, these adorable things were irresistible.

---

At the dinner table, Ye Chen casually mentioned what had happened earlier that day.

When she heard about the situation, Shen Yuhua slammed her chopsticks on the table. "What's wrong with that kid? Don't his parents care about him? How could he bully such an adorable little girl like Xiao Xi?"

After all, Xiao Xi was her future daughter-in-law!

Bullying her daughter-in-law? Absolutely unacceptable!

Across the way, Lin Wan shared the same sentiment.

Bullying her future son-in-law? Also not allowed!

Ye Yuanfeng tried to calm her down. "Alright, alright, relax. Let's go to the school this afternoon and sort it out."

---

After lunch, Shen Yuhua took Ye Chen and headed to the Gu family's house.

Coincidentally, they ran into Lin Wan and Gu Nianxi at the door.

The two women teamed up and, with their children, marched toward the school!

---

At the teacher's office, Meng Fei had already brought his father along. His father seemed like an honest and simple man.

Meng Fei had been wailing about being beaten up and demanded that his dad stand up for him.

But his father knew his son too well. If Meng Fei was crying, chances were he had been the one picking on others.

Unaware of his father's thoughts, Meng Fei felt smug, confident now that he had someone to back him up.

The homeroom teacher explained the situation to all three parents.

"Ye Chen admitted to hitting Meng Fei first," the teacher said.

Shen Yuhua immediately stood up for her son. "I know my son. He's always been a good kid and wouldn't hit someone without a reason."

Her meaning was clear: Meng Fei must have provoked him.

Lin Wan chimed in, "My daughter said this boy snatched her hair clip and broke it."

At this point, it didn't take a genius to figure out what had happened.

The homeroom teacher also knew Ye Chen's character. He wasn't the type to cause trouble or bully others. Meng Fei, on the other hand, had a reputation for teaming up with his brother to pick on classmates.

Meng Fei tried to plead his case to his father. "Dad, he hit me first. It's his fault!"

But instead of receiving support, Meng Fei got a smack on the head.

The unexpected turn of events left everyone stunned, including Meng Fei.

What was going on? He was the injured one—why was his dad hitting him?

Meng Yixiang knew his son all too well. He could predict his son's behavior as if reading an open book.

The homeroom teacher was confused.

"Teacher, parents, I sincerely apologize. My son has caused trouble for everyone. I'll make sure to discipline him when we get home!"

Meng Fei, who had been confident in his father's support, was now completely dumbfounded. He was the injured party! He was still in pain!

"You little brat, apologize to them!" Meng Yixiang demanded, giving his son another smack.

Terrified of his father, Meng Fei glanced at Ye Chen and reluctantly apologized.

Ye Chen remained cold. "You should be apologizing to my sister."

...

And just like that, the issue was resolved.

The homeroom teacher was relieved that the matter had been settled so smoothly.

Shen Yuhua and Lin Wan, who had expected a battle, were pleasantly surprised by how reasonable Meng Fei's father was. Since they weren't the type to harp on things, the incident was considered resolved.

---

After the parents left, the classroom atmosphere shifted.

Having learned his lesson, Meng Fei no longer dared to mess with Ye Chen. Thinking about the punishment awaiting him at home, he shrank back nervously.

Other students in the class began to admire Ye Chen even more. Many of them had suffered at the hands of Meng Fei and his brother. The fact that Ye Chen had stood up to them and won was nothing short of amazing.

However, Gu Nianxi was still unhappy.

Her hair clip, something she treasured deeply, had been broken by Meng Fei.

That's when Ye Chen called out to her and patted her shoulder.

Gu Nianxi turned around, still looking glum.

"Ta-da!" Ye Chen said, pulling the repaired bunny hair clip from his desk and waving it in front of her. "Look what I've got."

Gu Nianxi's eyes lit up. Wasn't this the broken hair clip? Had Brother Ye Chen really fixed it?

"Brother Ye Chen, did you fix this?" Gu Nianxi asked, taking the clip and examining it like a precious treasure. It looked as good as new—Brother Ye Chen was amazing!

Seeing the joy in her eyes, which seemed to sparkle like stars, Ye Chen felt a sense of satisfaction. He nodded. "Of course. My Xiao Xi loves it, so I had to fix it."

"Brother Ye Chen, you're incredible!"

Ye Chen smiled. "Come here. Let me put it on for you."

The little girl frowned slightly, glancing nervously at Meng Fei. In a small voice, she said, "Brother Ye Chen, can I not wear it? I want to keep it safe."

She was scared it might get broken again.

The incident had left a shadow in her heart.

Ye Chen patted her head. "It's okay. If it breaks again, I'll just buy you another one."

So, even at such a young age, Ye Chen had already become incredibly important to Gu Nianxi.

In his previous life, what on earth had he been doing?

Unable to resist Ye Chen's reassurance, Gu Nianxi finally agreed to let him put the clip on her.

With a doting smile, Ye Chen carefully placed the bunny clip in her hair.

Her delicate, adorable face beamed with satisfaction.

"Ding! Congratulations, Host. You have gained Gu Nianxi's deep admiration. Admiration points +20!"

---

A little later, the homeroom teacher returned to the classroom and began the lesson.

The assignments and quizzes had already been graded. While distributing the students' work, the teacher paused and held onto Ye Chen's.

After reviewing it, the teacher couldn't find a single mistake.

Perfect scores.

If Ye Chen had done it himself, his progress was nothing short of miraculous.

Never in the school's history had a student improved so dramatically.

It was as if a failing student had transformed into a prodigy overnight—unbelievable!
