Novak ignore everything else and immediately sent a message to Ian:
[White Emperor]: "Ian, what exactly did you say happened after your father turned into a zombie?"
This question clearly struck a painful chord with Ian, but Novak couldn't afford to care about that right now. The mention of 'green plaques' brought back a disturbing memory. In all his experiences, Novak had only encountered something similar once—deep within the sewers of De M-anila.
It was there that he had seen a member of the Plague Sect, a Plague Messenger, whose body had been covered in those very same 'green plaques'. The Messenger had become the source of the plague, polluting the entire sewer system beneath the Ocean Blue Villa district.
Fast forward a month, and that very sewer system would evolve into a near-impossible, hell-level dungeon. Hell-level! Even the Red Star Mental Hospital, as bizarre as it was, was still only classified as nightmare-level. Only after summoning Zepar did it escalate to hell-level.
Imagining how terrifying that plague-ridden sewer would become was unnerving.
For the Plague Sect, this mission would no doubt be ranked SSS.
Now that Novak possessed the Plague Seal, his next task was to find the whereabouts of the members of the Plague Sect. The mission's description indicated that these individuals held the wealth of the entire sect and possessed treasures of great value.
Novak, in need of another SSS-level transfer job, hoped this would tie in with his goals.
After a brief silence, Ian responded:
[Just Ian]: "He was covered in green spots all over his body. I didn't dare get close because my spiritual sense warned me it was extremely dangerous and corrosive."
That confirmed it. Novak's eyes lit up. He hadn't expected to stumble upon such a valuable clue during a dream dungeon run.
[White Emperor]: "Your father—he's different from everyone else, right?"
[Just Ian]: "Yes, but I think it has something to do with his work environment. The chemical plant he worked at often had emissions that exceeded safety standards… Several of my dad's colleagues in the apartment building also had green plaques after turning into zombies."
[White Emperor]: "Got it. Thanks! I might head to D-avao in a few days. When I do, take me to that chemical plant. For now, stay away—it's probably too dangerous."
[Just Ian]: "Understood! And thank you, Brother White. Without you, I might've been dead long before this."
[White Emperor]: "This world is brutal. You have to become strong. One day, you'll fulfill your father's last wish and crush that demon ancestor. He'll rest peacefully in the afterlife."
[Just Ian]: "Hell yeah! Damn right!"
With a smile, Novak closed the private chat window and glanced at the group chat.
Sure enough, the group had erupted into chaos after the video guide announcement.
While Novak, Ian, and Meimei had stayed quiet post-dream, Crow had already started talking:
[Crow]: "@Everyone! Did you all see that? The greatness of your big brother? My invincible strength? The sheer brilliance of my martial prowess!?"
[Whiplash of the Skies]: "Didn't see it. All I saw was you getting one-shot by the Hell Messenger's glare."
[I'm Really Not A Sword Fairy]: "I gotta admit, that Boss White was on another level. It was beyond fierce!"
[Heaven Wings]: "He is too powerful!"
[Truth Teller]: "Simply Unbelievable!"
[Lotte]: "His ability…could it be some sort of disease-based ability? White Emperor's powers seem tied to some strange phenomena!"
[Crow]: "Hey! Stop ignoring me! I was there! I saw it all with my own eyes!"
[Vince]: "Meimei's ability is really impressive. It gave us a solid example to work with."
[Crow]: "Screw you, dude!"
Novak chuckled. He hadn't realized in his previous life just how amusing the Fearmonger could be.
[Dahen]: "@Crow, speaking of, why don't you use the team name we came up with earlier? 'Worldly Being' sounds so good!"
[Crow]: "Go ask White Emperor."
[Dahen]: "...never mind."
[The Only Trash in the Group]: "Haha, speaking of, there are a lot of people on the forum trying to track down our 001 chat group."
Night had already fallen, and this dream battle had clearly taken longer than expected.
Novak raised an eyebrow at @The Only Trash in the Group message as he settled onto his bed and clicked open the forum.
Meanwhile, across De M-anila, Daphne had just finished watching the video. A chill ran down her spine.
That terrifying boss— a demon? No, Devil?
"Do such creatures really exist in this world?"
Even more baffling was the question: 'What kind of human could kill such demons?'
'Disease?'
Daphne stared at the familiar figure in the video. Even after watching it twice, she still couldn't comprehend how Novak had made it all the way to the D-avao in a single day.
But that wasn't the most disturbing part. It was the people standing beside Novak that sent a deeper sense of dread.
'What kind of people are they?'
Though their displayed strength wasn't overwhelming, Daphne understood that the dungeon itself was just too strong—classified as a level 12 nightmare dungeon.
Yet even within this high-level dungeon, Crow could effortlessly annihilate mobs. And that chubby guy? He could control weapons at will, though his power still seemed underdeveloped. But mind control? That was reminiscent of Magneto!
And then there was that girl, who had barely done anything. But the respect the two men showed her made it clear—she was no ordinary figure.
A shadow crossed Daphne's face.
Every time she encountered Novak, he found new ways to astonish her. This time, it felt like she had seen just the tip of the iceberg.
Aside from his immense power, he also had such a formidable group of companions.
As for 001... What was it, aside from just an evolution number?
A spark of curiosity lit up in Daphne's eyes as she opened the forum.
