[You have killed an Elite Mutant Virus Body: 'Heretic'! Experience gained: 3000 points!]
[You have killed an Elite Mutant Virus Body: 'Lord'! Experience gained: 5000 points!]
[Swallowed Special Mutation Complex *3, gained exclusive Blacklight Virus Evolution Points: 35 points!]
[The Blacklight Virus has consumed special mutants. Evolution points required to strengthen special branches have been reduced!]
[Swallowed a special species, gained the 'Heretic' skill: Explosive Fireball (C Rank)!]
Novak barely glanced at the experience notifications. These meager gains meant little to him at this stage. Even the improvements brought by the Blacklight Virus's devouring process weren't his priority at the moment.
What mattered most now was the harvest—specifically, the items that had just appeared in his inventory.
He hadn't expected to acquire the materials for Biochemical Disaster so quickly.
In his hands, Novak held two key materials: the Heart of a Heretic, a pitch-black organ emitting smoky tendrils like burning charcoal, and the Brain of a Lord, resembling a soft white walnut that gleamed faintly.
These, along with the other two components that lay on the floor of the hospital restroom, were all necessary ingredients: the Tyrant's Claw, the Roshan's Core, the Heart of a Heretic, and the Brain of a Lord.
With the special blueprint he got long ago, now the time had come to use it.
He held the Zombie Claw, a weapon that had accompanied him even before the apocalypse began. It was a testament to the incredible power of items produced from blueprints.
And now, the Zombie Claw was poised to evolve once more.
Gathering all the materials together, Novak picked up the blueprint and activated it.
The anticipation built as a bright light surged upward. Slowly, the Biochemical Disaster blueprint dissolved, replaced by an ethereal glow that enveloped everything, merging the components into one. These equipment blueprints were special artifacts, linked to the greater Cosmic Will, allowing the creation of powerful, high-value items.
Two minutes felt like an eternity as Novak waited, barely containing his impatience.
Finally, the light dimmed, and the materials on the floor vanished. In their place was something new—a boxing glove. But unlike its predecessor, it wasn't studded with bone fragments. Instead, it was a sleek, solid black. Embedded in the back of the glove was a pulsing red core, resembling both a heart and an eye, radiating a strange, unsettling energy.
Without hesitation, Novak slid his hand into the glove. Instantly, blood vessel-like tendrils wrapped around his palm, fusing with him.
The next moment, a detailed status screen materialized before his eyes:
---

- Heretic's Heart: Increases resistance to spiritual attacks by 0.5% your current mental power, and allows the active release of a spiritual magnetic field.

Novak blinked, his gaze locked on the glove in silence for a long moment. Of all the stats, the 35-point attribute boost seemed the least remarkable. After all, for him, those attributes were trivial at this stage.
But what left him in awe was that this C-class equipment had five special abilities.
Among them, the final ability, Biochemical Disaster, was the most astonishing.
'Killing 100,000 zombies and over 100 powerful mutants...?'
The goal seemed distant, but not impossible. And the potential reward made it well worth the effort!
Growth-Type Horcrux.
Horcruxes were a rare and powerful type of equipment in the Trial Grounds of Gods and Demons. They didn't take up an equipment slot but could still provide their attributes and abilities, stacking with other gear.
Novak had only ever heard of such items before, but he now possessed one himself. In his previous life, Horcruxes were so rare that even he had never owned one.
However, someone in the 001 Chat Group, a player known as King of Thunder, had once boasted of possessing a Twin Fang Horcrux. The unique artifact had been fused into his two canine teeth. When he laughed in public, his sharp, glowing green fangs were impossible to ignore, much to Novak's amusement.
Despite the ridiculous appearance, Horcruxes were incredibly valuable. The ability to equip them without occupying any gear slots made them practically priceless. Even a low-level Horcrux was worth over half a million gold coins.
The fact that the Biochemical Disaster could evolve into a Horcrux—and a growth-type one at that—was unbelievable.
Even with his 70+ years of experience from his past life, Novak felt his breath quicken at the possibilities.
