Novak stood before the massive chemical plant, its industrial sprawl dominating the outskirts of D-avao Capital City. The desolate factory, encircled by overgrown vegetation, exuded an eerie stillness. Though the surrounding area was overrun with zombies, none dared approach the foreboding complex. It loomed like a monstrous entity, its gaping maw waiting to consume any who dared venture near.

But as Novak ventured closer, his sharp gaze took in the interior—and even he felt a chill run down his spine.

The factory was overrun by a creeping green substance, coating every building and structure like a jungle of tangled vines. It felt as if the place had been abandoned for centuries, left to rot and mutate into something grotesque. A faint green mist hung in the air, a lingering, toxic presence. Even zombies, mindless as they were, seemed to know better than to come near.

The seal of the Plague Sect that Novak carried began to pulse with a dark green light, its glow intensifying as they approached the factory. Ian, standing nearby, swallowed nervously.

"Brother, are we seriously going in there?" he asked, his voice wavering.

Novak glanced at him. "Why else did you come?" he replied, his tone casual.

Ian flinched. He had visited this factory before—it was once his father's workplace. Back then, it had been a clean, bustling facility. Now, it looked more like a haunted ruin, transformed into a nightmarish landscape.

Novak gave a reassuring smile. "Don't worry. Stick close to me, and you'll be fine."

Novak wasn't boasting. At level 10, his Virus King talent had developed to a point where his mastery over bacteria and viruses was unparalleled. Within a radius of ten meters, no microorganism could escape his detection or control. With this ability, Ian was shielded from the dangers of the plague-infested air.

Ian, although still anxious, nodded with grim determination. "I trust you, Brother White."

With a slight grin, Novak kicked down the iron gate of the chemical plant. The force of his strike sent a shockwave through the area, causing the gate to crumble, and the green mist inside the plant began to swirl. Almost instantly, a familiar sound echoed in Novak's mind—a message from the Cosmic Will.

[You have met the hidden condition: Special Mission Triggered: Plague Factory!]

[Plague Factory (Level A)]

[This terrifying chemical plant has mutated into a breeding ground for viruses and plagues. It's the perfect place to be transformed into a secret realm dungeon!]

[Mission Objective: Find the source of the plague mutation!]

[Mission Reward: 5000 Experience Points, Skill Book: 'Bacteria Cultivation (Level A)']

An A-level mission.

Novak's brow furrowed slightly before a satisfied smile spread across his face. He had been right all along. The Plague Sect's mission was indeed a unique quest, born from his influence on the world. In his previous life, he had spent significant time in D-avao Capital City, but never once had he heard of such a dungeon existing here. His actions, starting with exploring the old sewer, had caused a butterfly effect, creating this new, far more dangerous opportunity.

The difficulty of the chemical plant was on a different level than the sewer, where removing the giant rats had been an E-level task. This A-level mission meant the dangers here were exponentially greater. But to Novak, this danger was nothing. As he entered the plant, his eyes lit up, and he spread his arms wide as if welcoming the entire factory into his embrace.

Ian, watching from behind, shivered. The way Novak stood there, arms open in this plague-ridden factory, gave him serious villain vibes. It was hard to fathom what kind of person could strike such a triumphant pose in a place that made him scared to even breathe.

But what Ian didn't understand was that with every step Novak took, his Virus King talent surged to life. The factory, teeming with bacteria and viruses, was like a paradise to Novak. His evolution points—the precious resources needed to enhance his abilities—were rapidly accumulating.

This was a goldmine for him.

With glowing eyes, Novak strolled through the factory like it was his domain, the plague mist swirling around him like a welcoming crowd. Every second spent here strengthened him, as if the entire factory was his kingdom and he was its rightful ruler.

Suddenly, Ian interrupted Novak's reverie. "Brothet White! There's a monster!" he shouted.

Novak's eyes narrowed, scanning the area through his bacterial sensing ability. Sure enough, buzzing toward them was an enormous mosquito, the size of a washbasin.

[Plague Giant Mosquito (Level 9)]

The combination of plagues and viruses was often associated with pests like rats and mosquitoes, but even with his mastery over bacteria, Novak found these creatures repulsive.

Without hesitation, he extended his claws, and with a swift strike, the giant mosquito exploded in a burst of green pus. The evolution points surged through him, and Novak's smile widened. The decision to come here had been the right one. This chemical plant was proving to be a treasure trove of power.

Novak turned to Ian, who seemed to be investigating something in a corner of the factory. "Brother White, there's something here!" Ian called out.

Novak approached, and among the green creepers, a strange mushroom, about the size of a palm, lay nestled on the ground. Its color was a sickly yellow-green.

Excited, Ian reached out. "This has to be rare material for the dungeon!"

"Don't touch it!" Novak snapped.

Ian froze mid-motion.

"If you so much as sniff that thing, you'll be lying on a slab in no time," Novak warned.

Ian's eyes widened in disbelief. "Is it really that dangerous?"

Nodding gravely, Novak squatted down beside the mushroom. Without hesitation, he plucked it from the ground and popped it into his mouth, chewing thoughtfully.

Ian stood frozen in shock, his jaw slack.

What kind of person 'eats' a deadly mushroom like that?!
