Novak took the vial with a nod of satisfaction.
"Very good, Aga Reiss. Your loyalty is clear to me."
But almost the moment his voice echoed, an endless darkness suddenly surged around them.
"Who are you?!"
Aga Reiss's voice was icy and sharp.
A crushing pressure surged toward Novak, but it dissipated almost as quickly as it had appeared. The power of the abyss shielded Novak completely, ensuring his safety while also restraining Aga Reiss, who seemed ready to attack.
In that instant, beneath the Eternal Night Monarch's darkened band of cloth, his eyes flared blood red. His aura shifted, transforming him into a towering demonic form, over three meters tall, radiating a force that could strike terror into the hearts of any god.
Novak, unphased, merely chuckled.
"You sensed it? How did you realize?"
"The Devil Monarch's blood essence was a gift from my master," Aga Reiss replied coldly. "If I ever had a chance to escape the abyss, I was to use it to transform from demon to devil. How could the master not know about this thing?!"
Aga Reiss's gaze fixed on Novak, intense and unyielding.
But then, Novak raised his hand, and an aura emerged from the Hell King's Ring, now transformed.
"Aga Reiss, don't act impulsively! Honored Novak has done nothing against me. Our plan failed, and now, Novak is the rightful master of the abyss."
"Master..."
The reunion between master and servant was almost moving, even though the nature of this partnership was anything but ordinary.
Satan's response pleased Novak, as it brought Aga Reiss back under control. Without it, the infuriated Eternal Night Monarch, though unable to kill Novak, would have likely torn apart much of the 500th layer of the abyss in his fury.
In the end, Aga Reiss reluctantly handed over the blood essence to Novak.
Still, Novak decided not to absorb it just yet. With the potential to wield nine different bloodlines, he wanted to push the Abyss bloodline to its absolute peak. While an SS-ranked bloodline would be enough for most, Novak intended to push the boundaries—perhaps even condensing the essence of an SSS-ranked bloodline through his unique "Gluttonous Face" ability.
Not intending to linger on the 500th floor under Aga Reiss's hostile gaze, Novak chose to move on. He preferred to seek out the Succubus Queen, whose impression on him had been far more intriguing.
Once again, he arrived at that same palace—but now, instead of an illusion from the abyss trial, it was the real thing. The Abyss Well stirred, and Novak descended to the 437th floor, where he was greeted by the familiar figure of the Succubus Queen.
"Great master! I never thought I'd see the day when the abyss was conquered by another," she said, her voice resonant with awe. "Allow me to formally introduce myself. Meikanxie, Queen of the 437th floor of the abyss, offers her deepest respect to the Great Master of the Abyss."
The true Meikanxie stood before him—a real goddess. Novak sensed that without the protection of the Abyss power, even looking at her directly would risk draining his very essence, leaving him a lifeless husk.
No wonder the Dark Mother Goddess Hell Rose had called this succubus queen a tragic beauty. Her immense power made it impossible for any male to approach her closely; they were doomed to be drained and could only stay away from her.
Thankfully, the power of the abyss insulated him from her consuming aura.
"Your Majesty," Novak greeted her with a respectful nod. "It's a pleasure to see you again. I still lack a full understanding of the abyss. Might you enlighten me?"
Meikanxie swayed her heart-shaped tail slowly, stepping closer to Novak. Her face, a vision of allure that could captivate intelligent beings across all worlds, held a smile that could topple empires.
"Of course, Great Master," she purred, "but first, I must see if your power truly holds sway over this little succubus…"
It was clear the will of the abyss had its own fluid way of interpreting things.
Novak hadn't intended to subdue her outright, yet now he found himself wielding the metaphorical whip, poised to tame this powerful queen.
"Pack!"
The long spiked whip struck against Meikanxie's skin, leaving a series of welts in its wake. It wasn't Novak causing the pain—rather, the will of the abyss itself was enacting this ritual, as if to protect its own dominion.
Simultaneously, cries echoed through the Succubus Queen's palace. Though intended as sounds of distress, the particular tone of her cries had a unique effect; any succubus maid who overheard couldn't help but blush.
Meanwhile, this intense "understanding" continued, and discussions were flaring up outside the abyss.
In Chat Group No. 001:
[Overlord]: @White Emperor, Great White Emperor, hurry up and fill us in! Satisfy the crowd's curiosity—what's your new profession?!
[I'm really not a sword fairy]: 'Sobs', Brother White Emperor has shown me once again what a true master is. I was 'so close' to completing my job change—only to find out I was actually the third to do it! Damn it!
[Crow]: @I'm really not a sword fairy, I've got to find a way to teach this little upstart a lesson. Who's with me?
[Vince]: +1! @I'm really not a sword fairy's getting annoying!
[JustIan]: Come on, Brother White Emperor, take us on a dungeon run in the Secret Realm! The experience alone would give us the boost we need for our job change!
[The Only Trash In The Group]: By the way, where's @Whiplash of the Skies? Is he still borrowing money?!
[Zezelia]: I bet he's still negotiating with Zogwort over that Thunderwalker scroll! S-Class job transfer opportunity right there. We all know @I'm really not a sword fairy and he are gunning for it. I just wonder how he'll scrape up the coins needed for the quest reward!
[Crow]: Not necessarily, @King of Thunder's been MIA for a while; he mentioned something about entering a special secret realm last time.
Just as the group chat buzzed with theories, a new message popped up:
[Whiplash of the Skies]: Hahaha! @AllMembers, get ready, it's time to set the record straight!
[Zezelia]: Huh? What's up now?
[Whiplash of the Skies]: 'Thunderwalker (S-Class) Job Transfer Scroll, 290° Screenshot'
"!?"
[Vince]: Wait, did you actually manage to buy it?!
Indeed, the chat was flooded with screenshots of the Thunderwalker scroll!
[Whiplash of the Skies]: Haha! Now, I'm officially Brother White Emperor's most loyal follower. Anyone who speaks against him will answer to me! Hahaha...
[Crow]: @Whiplash of the Skies, hey! Stop acting so smug—what happened?
[Whiplash of the Skies]: After completing my first-ring investment quest, the Trading God reappeared. He asked if I was a part of Group 001; I said yes. He just smiled, said it was for Brother White Emperor's sake, and handed over the transfer scroll on the spot. Said I could settle the investment returns later!
[Vince]: Wait, what?
[Overlord]: No way!
[Crow]: What?! @Whiplash of the Skies, does the Trading God have any other job transfers like this?!
The group chat buzzed to life once more.
When Zogwort, the god of trading, first appeared, Novak had shared specific insights about him with the group. This only deepened everyone's understanding of the Trading God's immense power and influence.
But now, this revelation left the entire group in shock and awe. White Emperor had somehow earned the goodwill of a true god, who casually handed over an S-class transfer scroll in his honor! It was almost impossible to wrap their heads around what kind of influence Novak wielded to merit such an extraordinary gesture!
