Ahem! Hi, readers of Amethyst! My name is Page. I haven't been officially introduced into the story yet, but don't worry—you'll meet me soon enough. I'm really tempted to spill some spoilers about my role, but I'll resist… for now.
Anyway, now that you know my name, let's jump into today's lesson: How the Mana Power System of Amethyst Works. I know, I know—you've been following the story for ages, and this hasn't been properly explained yet. Blame the author for slacking off too much!
Let's forget about that lazy author for now and get started.
What is Mana?
In Amethyst, everyone is born with Mana—it's essentially the life force of the people here. But if you're from the Outworld and somehow managed to stumble into Amethyst, sorry to say… you'll have no Mana at all. Zero. Zilch. Nada.
Now, the amount of Mana you're born with determines how powerful you are and the kind of abilities you can develop. People with excessive Mana tend to be stronger and possess more advanced skills. Let me give you some examples:
1. Crimson: His Mana level isn't particularly high, which is why he focuses on conjuring basic weapons. Poor guy can't even manage magical weapons.
I know, pretty pathetic, right?
Crimson: "What was that, Page?!"
Oh, nothing, Crimson!
2. Grey: Beautiful, isn't he? But too bad he's also a complete bastard. Unlike Crimson, Grey has a much higher Mana level. This allows him to perform advanced feats like invisible manipulation—conjuring invisible weapons and platforms.
So, here's the takeaway: the more Mana someone has, the stronger their abilities and skills. Crimson and Grey may share the same type of Mana manipulation, but Grey's larger Mana pool makes him far superior. (Sorry, Crimson.)
Does Mana Define Everything?
Not exactly. While having more Mana generally makes you stronger, your abilities depend on the type of Mana manipulation you're born with. For instance:
Crimson and Grey both manipulate Mana for conjuring weapons, but Grey can take it a step further because of his Mana capacity.
Junk and Junkie, on the other hand, don't share the same manipulation type. Their abilities are purely elemental, even though they often create ice weapons.
So, to answer your burning question: someone with more Mana can't necessarily perform the same abilities as someone with less Mana—it all comes down to their natural manipulation type.
Do I Have Mana?
Yes, I do! But it's… pretty pathetic. Honestly, I might have the smallest Mana pool in the entire story.
Page, don't you dare spoil anything for the readers.
Alright, alright, Miles, I won't! Sheesh.
People like me—those with very little Mana—rely on enchanted weapons, incantations, and advanced tech to survive.
Got Questions?
If you have any questions about the Mana power system, feel free to drop them in the reviews! I'm happy to explain more. I mean, someone has to do the work while the author snoozes.
Yawn. That's all for today's lesson. I hope you enjoyed our little chat! Next time, I might not be your teacher, but I'm sure whoever takes over will give you an equally entertaining crash course on the world of Amethyst.
Until then…
