Cassandra stood in the dimly lit alleyway of Crecork, the scent of damp stone filling the air. The city was quieter than usual, an eerie silence settling over the streets. The angel that was supposed to guide them had yet to appear, and doubt gnawed at the edges of her mind. Amy leaned against the wall beside her, arms crossed.
"So... nothing?" Amy sighed, kicking a loose pebble on the ground. "No news, no sign, no divine intervention. Did the church just fail to summon the angel or what?"
Cassandra exhaled slowly, adjusting the gauntlets on her wrists. "It wouldn't be the first time something went wrong," she admitted. "But we can't afford to sit around waiting. We need answers."
Amy shifted, looking at her with a curious gaze. "You still haven't told me why you think Ashley took help from demons to fight against ZeroVeil or whatever that damn streamer calls himself."
