"Shinsui-sama." My father's guard suddenly appeared before me while I was lost in thought.
"Zuko-san, what's the matter?"
"Kuro-sama requests your presence." He said respectfully and immediately left with a body flicker.
Renko Kuro was my father, the current clan head of the Renko clan; he was one of the few jonins in the clan.

Year 31 (Since the founding of Konoha)
[POV RENKO SHINSUI]
Walking slowly in a relaxed manner from the outskirts to where I live, I came across other clan members who are always enthusiastic towards me, which makes me feel a bit helpless at times.
"Good afternoon, Renko-sama, try this; I bought too much and couldn't finish it all on my own." An elderly woman, Meiko, greets me with a warm smile as she hands me some fresh fruit.
"Thank you, Meiko-san; I won't be polite." I returned the smile as I took the fruits from her. I knew that she deliberately bought a high amount just to share with me; at first, I always tried to refuse, but she always insisted.
This happened so many times for so long that I got used to it and stopped being polite. The reason for her kindness was because of the help I gave her once. I did not do it for any reward or anything like that, but she remembered it and remained thankful to me ever since.
I do feel guilty because when I helped her, I did it not out of kindness but just to showcase my intelligence and establish myself as a genius from a young age. Her genuine kindness makes me feel a little guilty.
Not just her; many other clan members are always kind to me, and most of them are genuine.
I always read books and like to solve some problems encountered by people in the clan. Of course those are just small and trivial problems, like how I designed a comfortable cushioned rocking chair for Meiko, the kind elderly woman who likes giving me some fruits.
Although the design was messy and unprofessional, with my explanations the carpenter realized what I envisioned and crafted something close enough. This was just one of the many instances where I've shown my intelligence and problem-solving skills, making me known as a genius.
At first I believed it was my responsibility as the future patriarch to shoulder the burden of the declining clan. I also did it as a way to repay my parents in this life, especially my father, whose wish is to change the situation of our clan, but due to his limited abilities, he could not do much.
But as I continued to interact more with my clansmen, I began to genuinely care about them; my mindset also changed. I no longer wanted to revive my declining clan out of just responsibility but also because I started caring about them.
_________
I walked into a large traditional house and made my way into the room my father always likes to stay in to handle matters involving the clan.
He has been too busy during these days; after all, our clan was in decline. Not because of our population, but by the small amount of shinobi our clan can produce getting smaller each year.
Less and less kids are getting born with no aptitude for becoming ninjas, and our clan is rapidly becoming a civilian clan. On top of that, our finances are getting tighter each year, and we lack a stable moneymaking venture to sustain us.
No wonder my father was so overworked and constantly worried about the current situation.
_________
"Dad, you called for me?" I asked as I made my way into the study and sat on a chair opposite him; he was glued to his desk reviewing some documents.
He glanced at me, his expression softening upon seeing me. "Yeah, were you busy with something? Did I disturb you?"
He knew that when I wasn't hanging around with some clan members, I would be at the outskirts of our clan area practicing my chakra control as always.
"Not really; I was bored out of my mind and was resting."
"I see. I called you here to inform you of a decision I've made."
I was confused. What decision?
Perhaps seeing my confusion, he continued. "After giving it some thought, I've decided to begin your shinobi training."
Maybe one might wonder why, as a reborn soul with future knowledge, I did not immediately start my training from the day I was born, like other self-inserts or something like that.
First of all, my memories didn't come all at once. I slowly started to remember stuff, and by the time I reached the age of three, it was only then that I remembered everything.
I had asked my father to train me multiple times, but he rejected this request every single time. Seeing that he was not budging, I decided to train myself but was caught. Seeing how determined I was and knowing that I was smarter than ordinary kids, my father knew that I would always find ways to sneak out and try doing the same thing again.
He made me promise not to do such a thing ever again; as a compromise, he decided to let me train my chakra control and taught me the leaf training exercise.
Since then, I started doing the leaf training exercise and took it a step further doing the tree climbing exercise with his help in no time.
My chakra control was quite good, not that amazing, and those two exercises bored me after some time. I started doing variations, like sticking leaves all over my body or standing upside down on one leg on a tree.
So when my father told me his decision to start my shinobi training, I was visibly excited.
"When?" I asked him with anticipation.
"In the evening."
"So soon?" I was a bit surprised.
"What, do you want to postpone?" He raised an eyebrow.
I knew he was messing with me, but I still hastily replied. "No! I was just surprised; I thought you would try to come up with another scheme to stall for time like how you did before."
"But chakra control is an essential skill for a ninja, no? Practicing it is also a form of training." He chuckled.
"I know, but I could do it while simultaneously doing other things, like learning taijutsu or ninjutsu."
He sighed. "Truthfully, I wanted you to enjoy your childhood for a while longer; there is no need to rush to become strong in these peaceful times. I didn't want to rob you of your childhood, but you are too smart for your own good. I thought it would take you a longer time to finish chakra control exercises while I thought of another way to stall for time, but I realized that you are a genius, not just intellectually, but also have a very good aptitude to become a shinobi. Since I cannot convince you to postpone your training, I might as well train you properly; after all, with your personality, you would end up trying to secretly train on your own without supervision. This would probably lead to injuries, and it would be regrettable."
I now understand why my father agreed to start my training. While I understand his good intentions and feel touched, I cannot afford to slack off at all.
He does not know that peace is just temporary. To be fair, I think quite a few people understood this fact, maybe even my father included.
It is just that they never thought that war would come too soon. Looking at the situation among all the other countries, villages are newly built and still unstable; before any country could even begin thinking about war, they should first think about bringing stability to their villages first.
Normally, this would take a long time before that happens, right?
Wrong!
War would come; the other nations would disregard their own instability and bet on the resources looted during the war. Specifically the land of fire, to use them to enrich their nations and ease up most of their problems.
The land of fire was too rich; after all, it is no surprise that it incited the greed of the other villages.
Unsurprisingly, after the first shinobi world war, every village needed a very long time to recover from the aftermath of the war, and some never fully recovered, which was also a buildup to the second shinobi world war.
Thus, the first shinobi world war would soon begin. The war that killed every kage from every village.
I had to get stronger, not just for myself, but also to protect my clan.
Training would soon begin; I decided to try and awaken my observation haki, as it would be extremely crucial for me. Plus it was the only type of haki I was capable of awakening at this moment.
It is possible to awaken conqueror's haki even at a young age like Ace, but I do not even know if I have the quality to become a king. I would not waste time on it, as it would awaken naturally at the right time if I really had it, though I doubt that.
As for Armament Haki, it requires a very high level of physical fitness, which is impossible to achieve currently with my very young age.
I will become very strong, extremely strong, to be able to protect my new family and to be able to handle anything that is thrown my way.
To be continued…

Shinsui: 3 years old
The kids from the world of Naruto mature early, with geniuses like Kakashi and Itachi talking and thinking like adults at a very young age. So it is not that surprising for others to see such a mature demeanor from the mc. At most, they would deem him a genius.
_Please give me some power stones and get me on the ranking list._ This is the first fanfiction I write without it being a translation and trying to use Chinese style. I know it feels bland in the beginning, but trust me, it would get spicy.
_Shinsui wanted to establish himself as a genius for some important reasons. First, it was to be able to get an early training easier with a 'genius' tag. Second, it was to give his clan some reputation if a 'prodigy' came from the Renko clan.
If you have any questions, do not hesitate to comment, and I will do my best to answer.
If you have any suggestions, please do not hold back and comment on what you are thinking.
_I would like the fanfic to have an active engagement, so do comment, review, and give me those power stones._
I will try to update more frequently.
Okay, my rant is over…
