Kaori's POV.
Yep. He's avoiding me.
I can feel it — the quiet shift in the air whenever we're in the same room. His gaze slips past mine, careful and deliberate, as though meeting my eyes might unravel something fragile. Or maybe… I'm the one who might break.
And maybe that's what scares me most — that if our eyes meet, it won't just unravel him. It'll unravel me too.
I thought it would pass. That maybe he just needed time.
But it's been two weeks.
And he still won't look at me.
The soft rustle of cherry blossoms stirs through the air, petals drifting lazily beneath the pale afternoon light. The faint scent of spring clings to the breeze, delicate and fleeting. The tree's branches sway overhead, scattering soft shadows across the ground.
