Chapter 258: No Cheat Codes for Me

Hagoromo calmed his turbulent thoughts and gently tapped his staff against the ground.

"Go on, young one."

Obito gave a slight nod, his tone filled with both emotion and sorrow.

"As you can see, even in these dire times, the shinobi world is still consumed by internal strife."

"I believe the current situation is bleak—it's a crisis both within and without."

"The only way to resist external threats is to unify the shinobi world with an iron hand."

Hagoromo nodded at Obito's words, parting his lips to speak—

"…"

But Obito didn't give him the chance.

He continued, rambling on without pause.

"Your original intent was noble—you wanted chakra to connect people's hearts, to forge bonds, and guide the world toward peace."

"But over time, the shinobi sect has deviated from your expectations, and today's shinobi villages are nothing but twisted, malformed creations."

"Why did this happen? Well, allow me to explain—let's start with social ideology…"

It was like a political history lecture.

Obito delved into the relationship between systems, policies, and efficiency with surprising clarity.

A rapid-fire recitation of key points mixed with persuasive rhetoric left Hagoromo momentarily stunned.

Despite being a wise sage with over a thousand years of experience—

In the world of Naruto, where the social structure was relatively simple—

Hagoromo's insights in this area might not even surpass Obito, a seasoned manipulator of events.

"…"

"In the end, all that's needed is a decisive and sweeping reform to eradicate the deep-rooted issues."

Obito concluded his speech and looked at Hagoromo, his gaze inquiring.

"What do you think?"

Hamura, standing nearby, closed his gaping mouth with a hand and said with a wry smile—

"Your ideas are innovative and unconventional… I have nothing to say."

A small smirk formed at the corner of Obito's lips.

He knew—Hagoromo had acknowledged his ideology.

Just a little more… Maybe I can convince him to lend me his power!

Hagoromo, of course, had no idea what was running through Obito's mind.

He simply shifted into a more comfortable sitting position and said—

"Now then… tell me about the Ten Tails."

Obito, mimicking Hagoromo's posture, sat cross-legged and began.

"Alright, elder, here's how it is…" (details omitted)

A blend of truth and well-crafted embellishments—

Once again, Obito managed to earn Hagoromo's favor.

"You actively protected the Jinchūriki, sought mutual understanding with others, and willingly shared your strength…"

"You have done well, young one." Hagoromo smiled warmly in praise.

Though this wasn't exactly the process I had envisioned… the outcome… seems acceptable?

Indra and Asura have accepted each other, and Black Zetsu's schemes have been completely foiled.

Seeing the smile appear on Hagoromo's face, Obito sensed an opportunity.

Testing the waters, he spoke—

"Hagoromo-sama, I know you have a deep love for humanity and this world."

"Will you lend us your aid in fighting the Ōtsutsuki Clan?"

Hagoromo shook his head, still wearing a faint smile.

"I am but a monk long since departed from the living. How could I interfere in the conflicts of the present world?"

If I hadn't seen Naruto, I might've actually believed him.

Though he had expected this response—

Obito couldn't help but roast him internally.

With a fawning smile, he adjusted his approach—

"I understand your aversion to war. Then… would you be willing to lend me your power—"

Before he could finish, he noticed the smile on Hagoromo's face vanish.

Welp, guess I'm not getting a cheat code after all.

Whatever. With my talent and hard work, I don't need external crutches anyway…

Quickly switching gears, Obito earnestly continued—

"Then, please lend your power to my two dear friends—Uchiha Itachi and Namikaze Naruto."

Consciousness returned to his body.

Obito stretched out his stiff limbs and let out a lazy yawn.

"Mm~ As expected, cheat codes are reserved for the creator's favorites."

Meanwhile, in Konoha's ranks—

Naruto and Itachi suddenly lost consciousness.

With a thud, they collapsed simultaneously.

The surrounding shinobi erupted into panic.

"What happened?! Is it an enemy attack?!"

"I don't know! Get some medics over here, now!"

"Somebody help! Separate them first!"

"No good, Naruto's clutching too tightly—we can't pull them apart!"

Back on Obito's side—

As he watched with a smirk, the three Kage approached, each leading a small squad.

"They're here, boys." Obito grinned.

The Raikage let out a heavy hmph and turned his head away.

The others didn't bother hiding their disdain—

Their expressions ranged from furious to indifferent.

Not that Obito cared.

He simply shrugged and said—

"Alright, folks, follow me. We're heading to Konoha for a little chat."

"A friendly reminder—keep your emotions in check."

"Otherwise, if a misunderstanding leads to someone dying, that's on you."

A few wore faces of suppressed anger—

But after some hushed words from their comrades, they reluctantly swallowed it down.

The group crossed into the Land of Fire, drawing ever closer to Konoha's forces.

Konoha responded quickly.

Hiruzen led Inoichi, Choza, Shikaku, and over a dozen others to meet them.

With a cheeky grin, Obito gave them a respectful nod.

"Third-sama, esteemed elders—long time no see!"

"I have not disappointed—I've successfully convinced the three Kage to surrender through sheer logic and reason!"

At those words—

Both Konoha's side and the defeated coalition forces—

All wore incredibly complex expressions.

Each reaction more amusing than the last.

"Through logic and reason?"

"Convinced to surrender?"

"Sure, if that makes you happy."

"I did NOT surrender!"

The Raikage raged internally.

"This is called an emergency retreat!"

Hiruzen stepped forward, gripping Obito's shoulders with excitement, at a loss for words.

After all—

Obito had grown up under his watch.

To see the boy he once mentored—

Now single-handedly turn the tide of war—

Hiruzen Sarutobi couldn't be prouder.

"Thank goodness… thank goodness I didn't act rashly back then…"

"Danzo, you almost doomed me—doomed all of Konoha!"

(Danzo: I'm dead, and you're still pinning the blame on me?!)

Obito stood there, smiling as Hiruzen continued his heartfelt gesture.

In his youth, Hiruzen had personally guided his training.

Though their relationship had turned sour over the years—

Obito still acknowledged that kindness.

Scanning the group, he asked curiously—

"Third-sama, where's Minato-sensei?"

Hiruzen leaned in and whispered—

"Naruto and Itachi suddenly collapsed. Minato is tending to them right now."

Obito immediately understood, nodding to himself.

"Tsk, Sage of Six Paths moves fast—already handing out cheat codes to his two golden boys!"
