Chapter 1: New Page

"Hmm, this seems quite good."

"Ah no, I don't like this part."

"This seems enough," said someone in the darkness of a room illuminated by candlelight and moonlight.

The person's room was quite luxurious. The chair was comfortable enough. The person sat on the chair while writing something in a book. The feather pen continued to scratch the paper in the book. The ink from the bottle on the right side kept decreasing. The person kept writing in the quiet midnight. The candle on the left side kept shortening as time passed.

"Ah, I'm out of ideas," the person complained while putting the feather pen back in its place. "I need an additional character." The person looked to the left and saw the collection of books. The person stood up and walked towards the bookshelf. There were so many books neatly arranged there. The person looked around the books, trying to find an idea.

The person looked back at the desk. In front of the desk, there was a large mirror. The person returned to the desk where they were writing. The person sat down and looked at the moonlight illuminating the room.

"It's night. The night that prevents sunlight from entering." Suddenly, an idea popped into the person's head.

"Ah yes, that seems good." The person continued writing. Time in the night kept passing, and the person kept writing in the quiet solitude of the night.

In the middle of the quiet night, the person stopped writing and stood up. The person looked to the right and saw the bed. The person saw a book on the bed. The book looked old and very worn out.

"I'm never this careless. How did a book get on my bed?" The person walked towards the bed, curious about the book.

"I don't remember having this book," the person said while walking towards the bed. The person accidentally slipped and fell. When falling, the person reflexively grabbed the blanket, causing all the items on the bed to scatter.

"Ah, that hurts." The person got up and rearranged the bed. Then, the person saw the old book lying beside them. The person immediately opened the old book. The writings in the old book had started to fade and were unreadable.

"Hmm," The person began to direct their palm towards the book. Not long after, the ink in the book moved on its own and started forming writings. The writings and images in the book became clear and readable. The person read the book quite quickly. No wonder, as reading had become a part of them.

After finishing reading, the person felt that the book was a good one. The story in the book was quite complex but had a very good story, according to the person. In fact, the person thought the story in the book was better than the stories in the neatly arranged books on the shelf with beautiful covers. An idea sparked in the person's head again.

The person returned to the desk. Took the feather pen and started writing quite quickly.

"Hmm, this seems good enough," the person said while closing the book just as the candle went out.

BANG!!

The door suddenly opened loudly, and someone entered.

"Wow, look who's here," said the person who had been writing the book.

"You shouldn't be here!" said the mysterious person who broke down the door in a loud voice.

The person had captivating silver hair. Their clothes were silver and very luxurious.

"People outside need you," said the silver-haired person.

"Yeah, yeah," said the person while walking towards the silver-haired one.

"What are you doing here?" asked the silver-haired person.

"Just writing a story," answered the book writer.

The silver-haired person looked at the writer's desk and saw an open book.

"Is that the book you're writing?" asked the silver-haired person.

"Yup. Do you want to see?" asked the writer.

The silver-haired person approached the book and took it. They started reading the contents of the book. And there was one paragraph that caught the silver-haired person's attention.

The world is destroyed. There is no more virtue. There is only one leader. Leading in all places and times. Destiny has been determined and cannot be changed.

"Hmm, you have a writer's soul after all," said the silver-haired person. "Did you write this because of what we're about to face?"

The writer paused for a moment before answering, "Not really. I was just thinking. Is destiny really unchangeable? Is everything truly planned by destiny?"

"Hmm, it's rare for you to think like that," said the silver-haired person.

"Ahaha. I was just inspired by a story. The story had a sad ending. The main character struggled alone throughout the story and ended up unhappy. I just added an additional character so that the character wouldn't be alone. And I wanted to make it happier with my additional character," said the writer with a smile.

***

Somewhere else.

I started to open my eyes. The faint orange color began to enter my eyes. My body was in so much pain. And I felt the heat around me.

When I opened my eyes, I saw flames burning around me. Many corpses were lying around, and some of them had incomplete bodies. I remembered that I was in a battle earlier.

"Did I faint?" I muttered.

I tried to stand up, but an overwhelming pain immediately enveloped my body. I looked at my legs and saw that both of them were broken. I was also shocked to see a deep wound in my stomach area. Somehow, I was still alive.

I started looking around, searching for something to help me stand up. I saw a sword stuck near me. I grabbed it and stood up. But as I reached for the sword, I saw a human head next to it. Severed from its body.

I could only close my eyes and stand up.

Holding onto the sword, I stood up and looked around. Everything was destroyed. Everyone here was already lifeless. Cars, buildings, everything was destroyed. Not long after, I remembered that I was fighting here to protect a building full of people.

"Wait, the building!"

I turned around, and my eyes widened as I saw the building had been destroyed and invaded by those terrifying creatures. Many of those terrifying creatures were flying and walking around the building now.

"Wait... did I... lose?"

Not long after, I saw something falling towards me. The object got closer, and it turned out to be someone's head. The head fell in front of me. The face was pale, and one of the eyes was missing.

I could only stay silent for a while. Now, I didn't know what to do. Everything was destroyed. Everyone was dead. Everything was over.

"NO!! It's not over yet!" I shouted to myself. "If losing is the end, then I have to start over again!"

A light blue aura shone brightly and enveloped my body. Everything around me melted into a light blue vortex with me in the center.

Not long after, a hole opened. I reached out my hand and took a basket containing a baby with the name "Juriko" written on it.

I tightly held the baby basket. My eyes started emitting a super bright blue light, and the silhouette of clocks appeared around me. The clock hands spun so fast and faster. Each clock spun faster and finally exploded with super bright light, and I was back in the middle of a light blue current.

I was carried again by the light blue vortex, and not long after, a hole opened again. I released my grip, and the baby basket started floating into the hole.

"I entrust this to you. Please, make a change. Please, change the destiny of your world," I said.

The baby basket entered the hole, and the hole closed.

The baby ended up in front of a simple wooden house. But it seemed the baby wasn't alone. Because there was another baby basket next to it. And the baby next to it had a piece of paper with the name "Aruta" written on it.
