Chapter 56 [Close Curtains]

Silence, the area was finally silent. Was this it? Is this horrific day over? It seems like it.

Teika squirms on the floor in pain but the screen appears,

Teika's arm and leg snap back to normal, and just like that, his left half regenerates. Teika wears a devilish smile "I'm invincible!" He shouts out. Immediately after that he gets up and runs to Amani's corpse, grabbing the Yong'un Seng off of it.

"TEIKA! Give that back!" Xavier screams trying his best to run to Teika. "Did you seriously think we were allies? I'm going back to my family, bye bye!" "WAIT!" But Teika runs off. Xavier holds his head in his hands "Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck! FUCK!"

"Tsk, just missed him."

Xavier looks at the source of the unfamiliar voice, and his face immediately contorts in fear, and his voice quivers as he whimpers out "No…"

"President! How are we going to keep Heat away from the public now!?" The assistant asks the President of the United States. "First the China incident, then the Tokyo incident, and now this!?" The President wipes his sweat off with a napkin.

"Margaret, I'm going to announce the reality of Heat to the world. Get the country ready for the speech!" "Yes Sir!"

"QUICK! Move the army in, I need to kill these criminals for what they've done to my beautiful city!" The Turkish President orders to his General, "B-But sir! You saw what those monsters can do!" The General retorts, but the President grabs a pistol from his desk and points it at the General, "You trying to not follow orders?" "N-No sir!" The General ran out of the room to prepare the army.

All across the United States every screen switched to a stand, and after 15 seconds the President stands in front of the microphone. "Ladies and Gentlemen, every man, woman and child who claims to be American must listen to this broadcast. As you know, earlier today superhuman beings fought and the great city of Istanbul suffered greatly, as reportedly no one survived that lived in the city. Well those 'beings' fighting were regular humans like me and you, but they harnessed a technique known as Heat."

Kazama wakes up in bed, groggy, with bandages covering him. He looks around the room, he sees Tatsujin and Amani sleeping. Xavier rests his feet on a desk and watches the tv. "Uh, Xavier?" Xavier whips his head around, "Kazama! You're awake!" he runs over to Kazama.

"W-Where are we?" Kazama asks, "We're in a cabin far away from any big cities." "W-Why? Why not go back to the C.I.A base?" "Well the President of the US had a speech… Just look at the tv."

Kazama focuses on the tv, he sees a city covered in flames, buildings being destroyed and blasts of Heat being fired. "This is New York, the President revealed Heat to the world."
