"I hope everyone understood what I said", Mrs. Hale ended her lecture.
"Yes, Madam", the students answered.
Mrs. Hale explained the method three times and by this time if they didn't understand the meditation technique then that would mean that they had no chance of improving themselves much in the future.
The Soul Power of a Beast Tamer determines how many pets they can have.
Sure, as their rank increases their Soul Power would too but that would not be by much. If their Soul Power is too low from the start, then this increase by increase in rank would not be sufficient to have multiple beasts as pets in the future.
Of course, the number of beasts that a Beast Tamer possesses doesn't guarantee their strength but having more pets than your opponent would create a scenario where the probability of your victory is high.
This is why having a Soul Meditation Technique is important.
Some clans have their own techniques, which are superior when compared to the ones that the Alliance provides to the school students for free.
Even though what the students learned is only basic and the improvement through this is not much, there was no other choice for them.
A Soul Meditation Technique would cost millions and that would be the cheapest of them.
As most beast tamers are either new in families or come from low-grade talent families, they can't afford such luxuries. So they have no choice but to take the one that is provided for free.
If they want a better one, they can only look for it in the future. Until then, this would be the sole helper for them to tame more beasts as their pets.

Once Mrs. Hale ended her lecture, the students started to meditate following the guidelines provided by the school on how to use this technique.
As said before, even though this is a basic technique, many would make mistakes as it is not a simple technique. Moreover, it is related to the soul, which is a concept that no one knows much about.
It puts a lot of stress on the body and should be used only in the presence of others to make sure that such mistakes won't happen.
There are ways to heal physical damage but healing the damage done to the soul was something no one was able to do so till now. So the best way was to avoid such injuries.
This is why, only after the awakening ceremony does the students were allowed to train in this technique.
Using the technique as early as possible would give the best benefits but even a mistake could cause a lot of damage to the soul and that could hinder the growth of the young. So, unless the age where medicines that can heal the soul appear, it was banned to learn these techniques before awakening.
This was something even the clans followed, as they didn't want their descendants to suffer.

Chris too followed with the class flow. He closed his eyes and started meditating.
At first, he felt nothing. It continued for a few minutes before he felt a strong pulse. He opened his eyes and was surprised to see that his surroundings had changed.
Only a few minutes ago, he was in his class but now everything around him has changed.
The surroundings have changed to a golden colour and looked as if they were flowing, nothing like walls. The surroundings looked like Golden Air to Chris.
"I remember from what Mrs. Hale told us just now. This should be my soul and what I think me is just my Astral Projection", Chris muttered to himself.
He continued to examine his soul, as the soul is considered the mysterious organ of any living being. It has no physical form and can't be seen through the eyes.
Using techniques such as this is the only way one can examine souls.
This is the first time he has ever seen any soul. So it made Chris curious about this mysterious organ, which was more important than any other organ. It was said, that even after death, one can take rebirth but for that to happen, their soul should be intact or else there might not be any rebirth.
Though this session was supposed to improve his Soul Power, Chris was more interested in knowing about Soul. This was because Soul is the base of any Beast Tamer. Whether they can rise or fall, the Soul would determine that.
In order to make the best use of the Soul Power, he felt that he should understand his Soul more, rather than just start increasing Soul Power.
After an hour, Chris suddenly felt a tug.
"Hmm, What was that?" Chris muttered to himself but he knew what it was exactly.
The teacher explained to them that when their bodies can't be able to take anymore, they would feel a tugging feeling and once they feel, they have to exit from the meditation or else the consequences are not considered good.
Since he started to feel the tugging that Mrs. Hale explained some time ago, Chris felt it was time to leave this soul realm.
---
Chris opened his eyes and saw that most of the students had opened their eyes as well but they all looked tired.
It was said that the longer one can stay in the meditation, the higher the potential but Chris felt something wrong about that.
He was unable to stay very long in that golden space but he was not that tired. He could do another session.
The thing was that the other students couldn't for the day. They would be able to go through this only the next day, while he can again today.
It means that he has more potential than others but what he didn't understand was why he came out of the meditation before he got tired and can't continue like others.
"Maybe because instead of just improving Soul Power, I spent time examining the Soul", Chris thought to himself but that was not a guaranteed reason.
He couldn't think of the right reason, but what he was facing was not exactly a problem. So Chris threw that away. There is no need to worry about things like that, as there is no problem because of that.
If a problem arises, he can check about that at that time. Moreover, he would most likely be capable of finding the reason and probably a solution at that time.
