Reincarnation Spell(3)

"Dweller... awakening?"

Harold asked with curiosity brimming in his coffee brown eyes.

Zverius sighed heavily and said after a long pause.

"This is an effect attributed to this spell. It is the effect in which under certain conditions the dweller's dormant or inactive soul awakens in a mundane human body.

In this process the human body is referred as a host or vessel with respect to the dweller's soul.

The dweller's soul partially merges with the vessel's soul in order to establish a telepathic connection between the host and the dweller.

The dweller then develops their crimson energy core or simply put their core after the

merge.

However, this process will take place in such a manner, that it will provide the leverage to use crimson energy only to the dweller but not the host.

As soon as the dweller awakens they'll automatically get an access to all of the memories of their host..."

After hearing this David and Henry's expressions darkened, especially David whose eyes suddenly appeared not so calm.

Of course, David was serious and cooperative about all of this but still he couldn't completely trust anybody present here enough to willingly share his dark and confidential past.

When he thought about it he felt as if he was in a tight spot and soon his bad habit of

the past started clouding his chain of thoughts like a thick mist.

'No I can't afford to repeat the same mistake. If I do all of my efforts would be in vain.'

David somehow held himself back and managed to suppress his old bad habit.

Zverius looked around for a moment and said with a slight regret in his voice.

"I know this is an invasion of privacy and may break our bonds before we even get a chance to forge them, but try to understand my point too.

I'm just a re-caster of this spell. I can't modify those properties and effects which the original caster has already set up, all I can do is to just only add those properties and effects which don't contradict those set up by the caster of the spell and also not to mention with my limited knowledge of spellcraft.

In this case, the effect of the dweller's awakening and access to the host's memory

was unmodifiable for me.

And since I can't add any effect which contradicts or blocks it so I wasn't able to make a difference in that case."

Zverius's reason didn't seem deceptive but the seed of doubt in David's mind was

planted nevertheless, if not growing.

He still couldn't completely trust these Zardens. Actually if he had the power and authority to kill them then he would have done it at the time of their appearance.

'Trust them partially? Fuck that! I don't trust them at all now.'

David contemplated his options meticulously, he honestly doubted that he could get rid of these Zardens in any way. Modern technology and weapons must be useless against them, proof is the Klington

civil hospital incident.

And seeking help from Zarius was out of the question so David couldn't consider that either. But he had thought of one way to get rid of them.

Soon he postponed his idea to immerse himself in these thoughts and diverted his attention to Zverius. David looked at Zverius with a well concealed hostility, and suggested him to continue.

"Now the only thing remaining to explain is where and when dwellers awaken in a host's body. There are two types of dweller awakenings: first one is default awakening and requires no specific location to awaken.

Only caster and re-casters that are me and

Zarius are awakened by default. Functioning of default awakening is pretty simple.

The subjects of this type awaken at a specific predecided time. Only requirements are that the host must be alive during the dweller awakening to make it possible, whereas, the second type is not so simple.

It's called the location based awakening. Location based awakening can only take place if certain conditions are fulfilled.

First of all, those subjects marked by me can only awaken by location awakening when I've awakened.

And the same rule applies to the subjects marked by Zarius. After the caster or recaster has awakened their respective subjects can awaken irrespective of whether the individual who has enlisted them as a subject of a spell

dies or lives.

Here comes some crucial concepts in the play regarding awakening, one of them is

awakening locations.

Awakening locations are those spots or places where if a human goes with a dweller's dormant soul, then it results in the dweller awakening.

But there is a catch, neither me nor Zarius knows about these awakening locations.

We don't even know how many of them are there. One may ask why Zarius set it up

the way he did?

Answer is that he probably didn't know that much about spellcraft. Spellcraft or studying crimson runes is an arduous process even if you possess a visual dark crimson technique which directly helps you to read and discern them upto a great extent.

So, I guess he marked multiple awakening locations because he expected this to

hasten the awakening process.

So the question arises that what if Zarius uses a known awakening location to use it

to awaken all those dwellers inside the students of your high school and kill those

who are not his allies.

Thankfully this won't happen because of an effect I added. Since, Zarius only added

that there would be multiple awakening locations which would become active after

the caster's awakening.

So I exploited this and added an effect which only allows one dweller to awaken from one awakening location at a time, after which, that particular awakening location becomes inactive for a month."

Summary of this was that one awakening location can awaken only one dormant dweller soul per month, so if Zarius or Zverius wanted to awaken their comrades then they had to wait for a whole month to do so, also the fact that the one student they suspect to be their comrade's host may not be correct.

'There are plenty of uncertainties.'

David thought with a long sigh, after a few

moments of being in reverie he turned to Henry and then Cerebius and asked with a slight frown:

"I'm sure Henry never visited the civil hospital since last five years so I would like to

ask both Henry and Cerebius, what's the awakening location in this case?"

Henry's cold indifferent expression was replaced by a wistful smile as he heard this

question, it was as if he didn't want to be asked this question to him.

Henry shifted a little and stared at the paper fan as he answered:

"Emeraldhart graveyard is also an awakening location."
