A surge of alarm rippled through me. In the previous rounds, Wulfgar had been casting glances my way, and now, his gaze was fixed intently on Liora. It appeared that my covert signal had been detected. Yet, during the last several games, I hadn't signalled her at all. Were they perhaps seeking to settle old scores? The only course of action available to me was to remain calm. As long as they didn't catch me red-handed, I would never confess. Of course, I also had to rely on Liora's ability to withstand the pressure, and my faith in her was non-existent.

Women of her ilk, with a simple pull of hair and a few sharp slaps, would likely spill all their secrets. However, I could not speak nor offer Liora any hints; I could only observe the unfolding drama. The atmosphere in the room was heavy with tension.
