The two turned simultaneously, gazing at me with expressions of confusion. I replied calmly, "You can't go downstairs just yet. If they spot you, you'll be in grave danger; both your lives and your money will be at risk!"
Upon hearing my words, both of them appeared dumbfounded. Yet, they understood that I spoke the truth. The slick-haired man pondered for a moment before pleading, "Brother, we’re from out of town and unfamiliar with the area. Could you please help us find a safe place?"
“Follow me!” I replied, turning on my heel. By this time, the power had returned, illuminating the corridor; however, the clamour of earlier struggles had vanished. Many heads peeked out from various doors, eager to glean the happenings.
The slick-haired man and the rose-tattooed woman remained visibly anxious, clutching the suitcase tightly and carefully trailing behind me. I led them into a pre-booked standard room. As soon as we entered, they regarded me with perplexed expressions.
