Chapter 93: Play again?

“What are you up to, Old Tong?”

Mad Kun adjusted his trousers,

stumbling in with the assistance of a prostitute.

He appeared as though he had just awakened,

his bleary eyes glinting with a hint of chilling menace.

Unperturbed, Uncle Tong disregarded Mad Kun entirely

and suddenly turned his gaze to me, asking,

“Do you know me?”

I was momentarily taken aback.

Why was he asking me this out of the blue?

I couldn’t fathom Uncle Tong’s intent.

Yet, I realized I had miscalculated earlier.

I had assumed he hadn’t recognized me,

but now it was evident he did.

And now he was questioning me.

I was uncertain of what schemes he might be concocting,

but I responded truthfully,

“I have seen you!”

But I still answered truthfully.

“I’ve seen you!”

“Where?”

“At the game room on Lao Street!”

“What were you doing there that day?”

“I was delivering car keys to a friend!”

We exchanged these inquiries and responses.
