The conversation between the two revealed much. It seemed the second boss did not regard the brother-in-law too highly, while the brother-in-law appeared eager to curry favour with him.
After hanging up, the brother-in-law addressed those in the room directly:
“Let us relocate and continue our discussion!”
This time, Wulfgar fell silent. He shot me a furtive glance, and I returned it with a discreet sign. Whether he understood my gesture, I could not tell.
We took the elevator down to the bathing hall.
The main entrance’s revolving door remained closed, but a side door was ajar.
The brother-in-law's three or four subordinates walked ahead, while I, along with Wulfgar and the others, followed in the middle. The brother-in-law and the remaining thugs brought up the rear.
Upon reaching the entrance, two of the thugs exited through the side door in sequence. However, barely had they stepped out when a loud crash echoed through the air.
One of them crumpled to the ground.
