"Where's the evidence?" Alaric replied, utterly unperturbed.

A nearby thug swiftly seized the cards, spreading them out on the table and exclaiming, "There are two cards missing!"

I frowned, feeling helpless. This was the essence of the swarm strategy—each of them was keenly observing you, rendering any attempt at card switching or manipulation futile. Upon dealing, they were acutely aware of the state of your hand.

Every single opponent had insight into the game; one person's gaze was often supplemented by another. Yet Alaric remained unfazed, glancing at the pile of cards. "The absence of cards indicates my cheating? I could just as easily claim that one of you has pilfered them!"

"Enough with the banter—search him!" commanded the blond player, his voice ironclad.

As he spoke, the other thugs rose swiftly. Alaric, however, stood firm, fixing his steely gaze upon them and declaring, "I dare any of you to try!"
