I was well aware of the situation Qi Bridge described. Many places would open temporary venues at the end of the year, typically operating for two or three months before shutting down. Even in that brief span, they could rake in a significant amount of quick cash.
“Did your surveillance team not notice anything unusual?” I inquired.
Qi Bridge shook his head. “No, we dispatched several agents, but no one observed any discrepancies. I know this patron personally; I can assure you he wouldn’t cheat. Yet, I can’t fathom how he’s managed to win so much. That’s why I’m reaching out to you, Mr. Lupan, to see if you could help identify the issue…”
Before I could respond, Selena shot Qi Bridge a playful glare, displeased. “As my dear brother, how could you dilly-dally so long without addressing the main point?”
“What main point?” Qi Bridge responded, puzzled.
“The remuneration! How much are you offering? Our Sir doesn’t work for free!”
