Chapter 342: The Grand Opening

Noticing my silence, the Second Boss did not press me for a response. He silently waited on the other end of the line for my answer. After leisurely smoking through half a cigarette, I finally addressed the phone on speaker:

“Second Boss, the crux of the matter remains—how can you expect me to trust you? If we join forces to eliminate Zou Tian, what’s to prevent you from turning your ire towards me afterwards? Would that not render my efforts utterly futile?”

“Let’s approach it this way: aren’t you and Elysianne on the same team? Why not have Elysianne send someone to detain me, turning me into your hostage? Should I betray you, you could dispose of me at your discretion. Surely, that would provide you a sense of security?”
