Chapter 64 – Lunara

(Lunara's POV)

The pages of the book were soft beneath my fingers, worn from years of turning but still legible. The text described the complexities of humanoid societies—their structures, their customs, and the invisible threads that tied them together. It was fascinating, in its way. Foreign.

I turned another page, the soft rustle breaking the quiet of the room. The Golden Hearth Inn was peaceful at this hour, its usual bustle muffled by the thick wooden walls. Outside, the festival roared on, but here in the solitude of our room, I could almost forget it existed.

My gaze flicked to the open window, where sunlight filtered in, casting long shadows across the floor. I'd shifted back into my natural form after Caelum left, my fur blending seamlessly with the soft cushions of the chair. The silver shimmer of my coat glinted faintly in the light, the small horns atop my head casting faint silhouettes on the wall.
