Chapter 11: The Royal Court II

"Greetings and Salute to the great King of Hastinapur Kingdom, Maharaj Dhritarashtra. Greeting and Salute to Mahamahim Bhisma and Minister Vidur. Greetings and Salute to the members of the Royal Court of Hastinapur." The official greeted everyone at the court. And everyone nodded to show that they take the greetings.

The King nodded towards the official and said, "What is your name official? And why have you came to the court?"

"My name is Amrendra, my King. And I am an official in the palace and work under Mahamahim Bhisma. Few days ago Mahamahim Bhisma ordered me to go to Champanagari village to inspect and give my permission to install a kind of a tool in the Ganga Nadi.

My orders were to inspect the tool and its usefulness. As well as if it truly can help in fetching water and other purposes and if it can, then what? And if we can upgrade it? I have come to present my findings to the court." The newly named Amrendra replied to his King.

"Oh, so you have come to report your findings?" Vidur asked Amrendra.

"Yes you wish, my lord." Amrendra said, "This new tool was designed by the young son, Radheya of charioteer, Adhiratha. He designed and created a small model of the tool which he named Waterwheel and I have brought the model here in the castle to present it. If I may have permission."

Dhritarashtra nodded to give permission even if he himself can't see. When he got the permission, Amrendra looked back at the door where his workers was stationed. His worker brought the model of the Waterwheel inside the courtroom. All of the nobles and other people inside the room watched the model with great interest.

After putting the model before the official and left the room. "This my lord, is a small model of the real Waterwheel. The real wheel is a lot bigger than this model. The real Waterwheel will be placed in the river where the tides of the river will push the pot.

And the pot will be submerged in the river and the pot will be filled with water and another pot will be pushed. The pot will then pour the water in a canal. This process will be repeated as long as the river flows. Even if the water pressure is not enough to push the water, then donkeys can be used to rotate the wheel.

The canal will be connected to a lake which will be filled with the water from the river. The water then can be directed towards field or another lake where life stocks will drink water. The main lake will be connected via small canal to the rivers so that the water in the lake can stay fresh for drinking purpose.

But that is not all my lords and my King, the boy, Radheya told me that he will use the first canal to develop water-mills that can be used to crush whets, grains into flour, grains to rice, peanuts as well. He told me that if he is provided with proper instruments then he can make the water mill be able to grind the oil-seeds to produce oil as well."

"I don't believe it."

"Really. Is that possible?"

"How can single tool be used to do so many things? It must be a delusion of the boy."

"This waterwheel seems to be real and if it is correctly put in the river, then it may work as said but I doubt this unknown mill thing can do so many things. The boy must be over his head since one of his tools seems to work."

"Of course, that must be the case. Otherwise it is not possible. Even if it was, then how come it was thought by the son of a Suta when the great Brahmin and Kshatriya couldn't?"

"You are right. Even if those things were possible then it would have been done by the high scholars not some uneducated child."

The courtiers were whispering amongst themselves as they didn't believe such a thing could be made by a child. They were making a lot of noise when the King shouted, "SILENCE"

All of the courtiers became silent at once. Then the King turned towards Amrendra and said, "The thing you just said now, do you believe them to be true?"

"I do, my King. Radheya showed me the drawing he had made of the mill and how it is supposed to work. Although I am not expert in building things, he explained it to me and I understood it clearly. I have brought some of the drawing. If you give permission then I can show them to the Royal Engineers and they can confirm it."

"You have my permission."

After getting permission from the King, Vidur called for the Royal Engineers. When the Engineers arrived, Amrendra showed the drawing to them and explained how they were supposed to work. After that he left the Engineers alone to muse over the things.

After some moments, the leader of Engineers stepped forwards and spoke, "Mi King, the designs that we was shown are possible to make and they will work as it has been said. The design itself is beautiful. We has never seen anything like this before.

The one who made these designs be genius and far above our level. If we be bold enough mi King, then please allow us to meet with person who make these designs. We may get the chance to learn some-things from them."

Hearing the request from the Royal Engineers, the doubt that had been plaguing everyone's mind was cleared. Even if the doubt was cleared, they weren't happy that it was a son of charioteer who made these revolutionary things. But they were contained since they believed such things like building to be beneath them.

The King then said, "Very Well. Your request is accepted. You will be allowed to meet with the person who made those designs."

"Thank You, me King."

"Amrendra, tell me about this Radheya boy." Vidur asked the official.

"Of course, sir-minister. Radheya is a 4 years old boy but looks similar to the boys twice his age. He has golden Kundal in his ear that he is always wearing. If I didn't know that he was the son of Suta Adhiratha, then I would have thought him to be the child from a great and divine bloodline. He face looks to be as radiant as the sun.

He claimed that Maa Ganga came in his dream and told him about the Waterwheel to help the villagers. Even though he learned from Maa Ganga, he knows a lot about the waterwheel as if he had studied it for a long time. He is very intelligent and is able to teach others what he learned. And also he showed a lot of leadership quality. I think he will be the clan leader of Suta Clan in future."

"WHAT?"

Almost every one of the courtiers shouted when they heard that Maa Ganga came to the dreams of a Suta Child. They wanted to deny it but the waterwheel looks to be far from ordinary tool and no matter how intelligent, a child of 4 years can't create a thing like this. So they have to accept that the Maa Ganga really came to his dream.

"Amrendra, you just said that Son of Adhiratha is 4 years old, didn't you?"

"Yes, my King?"

"Then did Mahamahim told you what kind of tool you were going to inspect in Champanagari?"

"No, my King. He just said that there is some kind of tool being made in Champanagari and they want permission to install it not just in their village but others too. And I had to inspect and check if the tool is worth the attention of the crown."

"Hmm… Mahamahim Bhisma, did you knew about the boy and that he was the one who created the tool."

"Yes, my King, I did know about that when Adhiratha asked me for permission."

"Oh, then can you please tell me something Mahamahim. Why did you thought that a tool created by a boy of 4 years can possibly be worth the attention of the crown? Though now we can see that ii is, but why did you believe it before?"

"Of course, my King. My charioteer Adhiratha and his wife Radha were childless for many years. They had been praying to Maa Ganga and Lord Shiva for a child for many years. And then four years ago when they were praying they found a boy floating in a basket in Ganga River.

When they took the boy ashore and checked him, they found that the boy was alive and had expensive ornaments in his body. They brought the boy to me to ask for adoption of the boy. When I looked at the boy I sensed somewhat of a divine presence in him. The child was a blessing of a god, which one I couldn't know.

And since, Adhiratha and Radha were the one who found the boy, I believe he was a blessing from gods to them. So, I allowed them to adopt him. Amrendra here maybe missed it but the child not only has a golden Kundal but also golden Kavach attached to his body.

When Adhiratha informed me about the waterwheel, I wanted to check on it myself so I could see what kind of tool was created by this blessing of gods. But I had a lot duty to attend to and it wasn't proper for me to visit. So, I send my trusted people to do the checking. And it looks like I was correct since the boy did build something so great."

After hearing what Bhisma said, the whole court was silent. Some of them didn't like that Bhisma decided to let the child he deemed to be of divine origin to Suta but they could say nothing against it, since he is The Bhisma. While King and Vidur pondered about this.

"Alright, I have come to a decision" King Dhritarashtra said, "The crown will help in this project in both funding and manpower. Vidur, select some of our best workers and some funds from the Royal treasury. And send them to Champanagari. Radheya and workers from the village will lead this project.

When the project will be finished in Champanagari, the team will then move to another village to do this project. You will go over the logistics and select the next village where they will go. And make sure that they are paid regularly.

And Raj-Guru-Ji, find good time and omen and prepare for the Puja of Indra to get rain. Our Parja have suffered enough in this drought. We as their protectors must do something more than a small boy to solve their problems and worries."

"Yes. My King."
