Chapter 13

As the days passed, Aurora couldn't shake off the feeling that something was off about Mrs. Jersen. The woman's behavior had always been a bit eccentric, but lately, it had become downright bizarre.

One day, while Aurora was studying in the library, she noticed Mrs. Jersen sneaking around the shelves, muttering to herself. Aurora tried to ignore her, but she couldn't help sneaking glances at the woman. As she watched, Mrs. Jersen stopped in front of a shelf filled with ancient tomes. She ran her fingers over the spines of the books, her eyes closed in concentration.

Suddenly, she opened her eyes and pulled out a book with a strange symbol on the cover. Aurora felt a shiver run down her spine as Mrs. Jersen began to whisper scary incantations, her voice growing louder and more urgent.

Aurora knew she had to get out of there, but her feet seemed rooted to the spot. She was trapped, unable to move or look away.

Just as Mrs. Jersen was about to finish the incantation, she opened her eyes and caught Aurora staring at her. For a moment, the two women locked eyes, and Aurora felt like she was drowning in the depths of Mrs. Jersen's gaze. Then, without a word, Mrs. Jersen slammed the book shut and stormed out of the library, leaving Aurora shaken and confused.

What was Mrs. Jersen doing? And what secrets was she hiding?

Aurora knew she had to find out. She began to sneak around the school, trying to uncover more information about Mrs. Jersen's mysterious behavior.

One night, she snuck into the school's administrative office, searching for any clues that might lead her to the truth. As she rummaged through the files, she stumbled upon a folder with Mrs. Jersen's name on it. Aurora's heart skipped a beat as she opened the folder and pulled out a sheet of paper. It was a letter, addressed to Mrs. Jersen, from a mysterious organization known only as "The Order of the Veil."

As Aurora read the letter, her eyes widened in shock. Mrs. Jersen was not who she seemed to be. She was, in fact, a member of a secret society, one that had been hiding in plain sight all along.

Aurora felt like she had stumbled into a whole new dark and unknow world, one that was full of secrets and lies. She knew she had to be careful, that she was playing with fire.

But she couldn't help herself. She was determined to uncover the truth, no matter what it took. As Aurora read on, she discovered that Mrs. Jersen's involvement with The Order of the Veil went far beyond mere membership. She was, in fact, one of the organization's top leaders, and had been instrumental in shaping their sinister agenda.

"What really is the order of the veil?", she questioned

Aurora's mind was reeling as she tried to process the implications of what she had just discovered. She had always suspected that Mrs. Jersen was a bit eccentric, but she had never suspected that she was involved in anything so nefarious.

Just as Aurora was about to leave the office, she heard a noise coming from the hallway. She quickly hid behind a nearby desk, holding her breath as Mrs. Jersen walked into the room.

Mrs. Jersen looked around the office, her eyes narrowing as she searched for something. Aurora held perfectly still, hoping that she wouldn't be discovered.

After what felt like an eternity, Mrs. Jersen seemed to find what she was looking for. She pulled out a small, leather-bound book from a hidden compartment in the desk drawer.

As she flipped through the pages, Aurora caught a glimpse of strange symbols and diagrams, out of the blue in her mind the one of the symbols looked familiar to her, but can't vividly recall. She realized that the book must be some kind of dark magic grimoire.

Mrs. Jersen's eyes seemed to gleam with an otherworldly intensity as she read from the book. Aurora felt a chill run down her spine as she realized that she was in grave danger.

She knew that she had to get out of there, and fast. But as she tried to make a run for it, she found that her feet seemed rooted to the spot.

Mrs. Jersen looked up, her eyes locking onto Aurora's. A slow, sinister smile spread across her face.

"Ah, Aurora," she said, her voice dripping with malice. "I've been expecting you for so long." Mrs. Jersen's eyes seemed to bore into Aurora's soul, and she felt a shiver run down her spine. She tried to speak, but her voice caught in her throat.

"What do you want from me?" Aurora managed to stammer, trying to keep her voice steady. Mrs. Jersen chuckled, a low, menacing sound. "Oh, Aurora," she said. "I want so much more than you could ever imagine." As she spoke, Mrs. Jersen began to circle the room, her eyes never leaving Aurora's face. Aurora felt like a trapped animal, unable to move or escape.

"You see, Aurora," Mrs. Jersen continued, "you have something that I want. Something that could give me the power to control the entire world."

Aurora's mind was racing, trying to figure out what Mrs. Jersen was talking about. But before she could ask any questions, Mrs. Jersen raised her hand and pointed at Aurora.

"You have the mark of the ancient ones," Mrs. Jersen spat loudly sounding like an angry witch, her eyes blazing with hatred. "And I will stop at nothing to get it." Aurora felt a surge of fear run through her veins as she realized that Mrs. Jersen was talking about the strange symbol that had appeared on her hand after the ritual.

But before she could react, Mrs. Jersen raised her hand and cast a spell, sending Aurora flying across the room.

As Aurora struggled to get to her feet, she saw Mrs. Jersen standing over her, a look of triumph on her face. Aurora's world went dark as she felt herself being pulled through a vortex of swirling colors and lights. She tried to cry out, but her voice was lost in the void. When she finally came to, she found herself lying on a cold, damp floor. She was in a small, dimly lit room with stone walls and a low ceiling. A single torch flickered on the wall, casting eerie shadows around the room.

Aurora struggled to sit up, her head spinning with dizziness. As she looked around, she saw that she was alone in the room. But she knew that she wasn't alone for too long.

She heard the sound of footsteps echoing outside the room, growing louder with each passing moment. Aurora's heart began to pound rapidly in her chest as she realized that Mrs. Jersen had brought her to some kind of secret lair.

The door to the room creaked open, and Mrs. Jersen stepped inside. She was holding a small, leather-bound book in her hand, and her eyes gleamed with an otherworldly intensity.

"Welcome, Aurora," Mrs. Jersen said, her voice dripping with malice. "I've been waiting for your awake."

Aurora tried to speak, but her voice caught in her throat. She was trapped, and she knew it.

Aurora knew that she had to think fast or risk losing everything. She tried to remember the words of the ancient spell, the one that Elijah had taught her. But as she tried to speak the words, she realized that her voice was instantly gone.

Mrs. Jersen laughed, a cold, mirthless sound. "You should have stayed out of this, Aurora," she said. "Now, you're going to have to pay the price."

And with that, Mrs. Jersen raised her hand and cast a spell, sending Aurora tumbling into a dark and unknown world. She opened her eyes but everywhere was dark in that realm all she could hear were whispers, suddenly, she saw Mrs. Jersen's face looming over her. But it was not the Mrs. Jersen she knew. This Mrs. Jersen's eyes were black as coal, and her skin was deathly pale, she's in the supernatural realm.

"You're so much like your mother," Mrs. Jersen whispered, her voice dripping with malice. "She was so powerful, so full of life. And now, you're going to help me bring her back." Aurora's eyes widened in horror as Mrs. Jersen's face began to twist and contort, her features melting away like wax in a furnace.

She knew her mother was long dead, why does Mrs. jersen want her back?
