The Secret (Final)

At that moment, an absolute silence settled — heavy, thick. The kind of silence that seemed to have its own weight. And only after a few seconds did Lyaris finally break it.

— The last… dragons? — she repeated, as if still unsure of what she had just heard.

Her gaze wasn't one of disbelief, but of confusion. As if she knew it was important, but didn't quite understand why.

I frowned, surprised.

I expected shock. Desperation. Maybe even reverence upon learning that what stood before them were, most likely, the last dragons in the world. But what I saw on their faces was something quite different.

There was no true surprise — only doubt. Curiosity. And, most strangely of all: a vague unfamiliarity.

Still, something in their eyes told me they understood the weight of the secret I had just revealed… even if they didn't fully grasp what it meant.

— Wait a minute… — I murmured, suspicious.

— You do know what dragons are… right?
