Part 11 - Piece of Overmeat

The next day, Zhu Zhuqing wakes up a few minutes after Su Fan. Her habit of waking up before dawn has not changed since the assassination attempt on her back in the Xingluo Empire. As soon as she wakes up, a smile appears on her face, greeted by a beautiful view. She gazes at Su Fan's face and body as he cultivates. Zhu Zhuqing then gets up from her bed and starts cultivating as she always does every morning. When the sunlight touches her face, she opens her eyes and sees Su Fan tidying up his clothes. Without looking at her, Su Fan greets her.

"Good morning, Zhu Zhuqing."

"Good morning, Su Fan."

Su Fan then turns around and looks at Zhu Zhuqing.

"Do you want to have breakfast together?"

Zhu Zhuqing nods, stands up from her bed, and follows Su Fan out of their room. As soon as they step outside, they are greeted by Xiao Wu, who looks at them both with a horrified expression.

"Brother Fan, why are you two coming out of the room together?"

"Because Zhu Zhuqing is my roommate."

"What?! Isn't Zhu Zhuqing supposed to sleep in her own dormitory?!"

Su Fan and Xiao Wu then look at Zhu Zhuqing, waiting for her response.

"I think it's too wasteful for the academy to provide an entire dorm for just me. So I figured there's nothing wrong with sharing a room with Su Fan."

"In that case, just switch rooms with me. After all, you and Brother Fan don't know each other that well. It would be better if I were his roommate instead."

"That..."

What Xiao Wu says makes sense. Logically, Zhu Zhuqing should agree with her request, considering that Xiao Wu has known Su Fan longer and has already been his roommate before.

'But I just can't accept it...'

To Zhu Zhuqing, Su Fan is her first love at first sight. Even though she doesn't know him well, the moment she first saw Su Fan from a distance in the registration line, a beautiful feeling bloomed in her heart like a flower garden. However, in just one night, Su Fan without knowing anything made Zhu Zhuqing fall in love with him.

"Xiao Wu, everyone is already satisfied with the current arrangement. I don't think anything needs to change."

Xiao Wu looks at Zhu Zhuqing in confusion, but as she observes her expression, she eventually understands why Zhu Zhuqing doesn't want to switch rooms.

'This black cat is aiming for Brother Fan too.'

Seeing the strange way the two girls are looking at each other, Su Fan starts to lose patience, having wasted time watching their odd behavior.

"Are you two just going to stare at each other? If so, I'll head to the cafeteria first for breakfast."

Su Fan then starts walking away. Seeing him leave, the two girls quickly follow, each walking on either side of him. Xiao Wu glares at Zhu Zhuqing with hostility, while Zhu Zhuqing realizing she's acting like a thief stealing someone else's man so she avoids Xiao Wu's gaze.

"Xiao Wu, where's Ning Rongrong?"

"She's still practicing in the room so I don't bother her and immediately walk to meet brother Fan."

"I see."

Zhu Zhuqing looking at Xiao Wu expression. She really don't know whether Xiao Wu is tricking Ning Rongrong or not. On the way, they come across a fat guy around their age chasing after a crying girl. They slowly hear the conversation between the fat guy and the girl. Seeing that Zhu Zhuqing and Xiao Wu want to help the girl, Su Fan has no choice but to follow them.

When the fat guy sees Zhu Zhuqing and Xiao Wu, his eyes immediately show an inappropriate expression.

"Oh, such beautiful girls! Do both of you want to replace my girlfriend? No problem! I totally agree!"

Just as Xiao Wu is about to step forward to confront him, Su Fan puts a hand in front of her to stop her.

"You two just protect the girl. I'll take care of the piece of overmeat."

"What did you say?!"

Su Fan ignore and walks toward him then grabs him by the collar.

"Let go of the girl, and I'll let you go."

"Hah! Are you trying to play the hero in broad daylight?!"

The fat guy glares at Su Fan like a wild beast. Su Fan simply smiles, releases his grip on the his collar, and starts hitting him.

Smack!

Su Fan punches the boy—first on the right cheek, then the left, followed by an uppercut. He continues this pattern rapidly, so fast that the fat guy can't react or break free from the attack sequence.

Zhu Zhuqing watches Su Fan's punches in awe. She feels she might have a chance to defeat Su Fan if given enough space. But if Su Fan forces a close-range fight like when he fought Zhao Wuji or when he's beating up the fat guy now, she would be completely overwhelmed.

'Su Fan's fighting style is entirely different from most spirit masters.'

Xiao Wu, on the other hand, is already used to Su Fan's combat style. Every time she watches him fight, she enjoys seeing his opponents spit blood. For her, it's a very satisfying sight.

Sure enough, the fat guy eventually coughs up blood, with several teeth flying from his mouth.

The best close-combat spirit master so far is Tang San. However, his fighting style is purely defensive—he can avoid attacks but lacks offensive skills. That's why Su Fan can defeat him quickly if they're on a match. Tang San knows how to block but not how to hit. Su Fan, on the other hand, was one of the best close-range fighters in the Naruto world. If his opponent were Naruto, Su Fan would definitely receive a painful counterattack.

'Let's finish this.'

Su Fan spins downward and kicks the fat boy right on the chin, sending him flying into the air. But before he can soar too high, Su Fan jumps after him, spins in midair, and kicks his stomach, launching him straight down into the ground with tremendous force, almost knocking him unconscious.

"Ugh..."

Su Fan himself dive downward with his head below but quickly spins his body midair and lands perfectly. Zhu Zhuqing, watching Su Fan's performance, looks at him in admiration, completely unconcerned about the fat guy's condition. The girl who was being harassed, who was initially worried about the fat guy, completely forgets about him as she stares in awe at Su Fan.
