Shadows of the Past

After Karl left the station.

Chief Rayner's face twisted in anger. "Sasha, come to my office" he yelled.

Sasha entered his office, her expression neutral.

"If you ever invite Karl to this station again, you're fired," Chief Rayner growled.

Sasha raised an eyebrow. "You can't suspend me without reason, Chief."

Chief Rayner's voice dropped to a menacing tone. "Don't test my limits, Sasha. I'll find a reason. And when I do, you'll regret ever crossing me."

Sasha's gaze didn't waver. "You can't threaten me Chief."

Sasha stormed out of Chief Rayner's office, her heels clicking on the polished floor.

Serge Walter, a tall, dark-haired officer in his early 30s with some files in his hands, attempted to intercept her. He was heading to Rayner's office.

"Hey, Sasha. Hi."

Sasha brushed past him, her expression stern.

Serge watched her go, puzzled. "What's the fuss about?" he muttered to himself.

Serge knocked on Chief Rayner's door.

"Enter," Rayner called out.

Serge stepped inside. "Chief, what happened with Sasha? She looked livid."

Chief Rayner's expression was neutral. "Nothing, Serge. Just a disagreement."

Rayner's tone turned dismissive. "Internal affairs. Don't concern yourself with it."

Serge sat on a chair in Rayner's office and said, Anyways while presenting those files to Rayner.

Night descended upon the city, casting long shadows across the abandoned crime scene.

Karl, clad in a black hoodie and mask, approached the house.

He entered through the kitchen window after breaking it with a crowbar, flashlight casting eerie beams.

As he entered the living room, memories flooded his mind. Laughter echoed, children's voices calling out. Karl's eyes welled up; he bit back a sob.

He approached the crime scene, the silence oppressive.

Dr Julia Lee's Office

"Hello, Yuno. How are you today?" Dr. Lee asked gently.

Yuno remained silent, her eyes fixed on the floor.

"Yuno, please lie down."

She complied, her slender frame sinking into the couch.

Dr. Lee's voice softened. "Yuno, it's time to open up about the incident. What do you remember?"

Yuno's gaze drifted, lost in thought.

"Anything, Yuno. A sound, a smell, a feeling."

Dr Lee leaned forward. "Your silence is understandable but it is hindering your recovery."

Yunos's voice barely registered. "I...saw."

Dr Lees's eyes locked onto hers. "Saw what, Yuno?"

Yuno's gaze faltered, her voice barely audible. "The Devil."

While Amelia was waiting in the waiting room.

Karl's Memories

He recalled his children's smiles and his wife's laughter. The pain sliced through him like a knife.

While walking through the living room he saw the wall where he photographed with his son Gordon. When he completed his school, his eyes were filled with tears.

He said to himself it all happened because of me. Only if I hadn't walked on the path of corruption and injustice, my family would have been happy, and my daughter Yuno would have had a good mental state.

Karl examined the crime scene. While walking a faint bull-like symbol caught his eye - a crude drawing on the wall. He photographed it.The symbol seemed familiar to him, his mind racing.

His mind clicked; the bull symbol was from the jacket of the drug dealer's hitman. Karl was an active customer of the drug dealer.

Karl said to himself angrily, "The killer is Bull Ramsey."
