"I didn't," Li Jingming said instinctively, countering the accusation.
Yet, his trembling voice gave away all of his thoughts, his eyes darting around, not daring to meet Zhong Niangyao's gaze.
"Li Jingming, from the very beginning, you were following me. You approached me seeing I was alone, didn't you?" Zhong Niangyao leaned back in her chair, looking at the nervous Li Jingming sitting across from her. "I initially thought you had some ulterior motive for stalking us, but it turns out you just wanted to mooch off me!"
"However, living off a woman is not an easy task. My standards aren't that low. Look at you, you have nothing to offer. Where do you get the confidence that you think I would like someone like you?"
"No, no," Li Jingming muttered, unsure if he was trying to convince himself or someone else, "how could you possibly not like me? You used to always follow me around, you clearly—"
He was cut off by Zhong Niangyao before he could finish.
