The class reunion didn't break up until midnight.
Classmates started to head home, each to their own and each to their mother.
Once Qi Yi and Yan Yan got home, they both went straight to bed.
Yan Yan did so because her biological clock had already reached bedtime, whereas Qi Yi hadn't slept much since returning to the country. That way, he could adjust his jet lag a bit, since the only time he and Yan Yan could enjoy each other's company was on Sundays.
Qi Yi woke up earlier than Yan Yan. After finishing the electronic file for Yan Yan's letter, he texted her:
I'm up. When you see this message, let me know, and I'll bring the letter to you.
Qi Yi had just sent the message when Yan Yan's call came in.
"Wow, Grandpa, when did you get up?" Yan Yan asked enthusiastically, her voice revealing she was anything but freshly awoken.
"About, two hours ago? Just finished organizing the letters." Qi Yi didn't check the exact time.
