Chapter 87: You Have to Force Me to Slap You

Chapter 87 You Have to Force Me to Slap You

When Qin Yao was worrying about how to take the things she bought back home, she met someone from Xiahe Village, who was driving a bullock cart and was also here to buy things.

Qin Yao gave him ten cents and he agreed to take her to Liujia Village.

Having a car is convenient. There were things from both families in the car and there was still some space, so Qin Yao sat all the way to her doorstep.

It has been a month since I left home. It is neither long nor short, but the people in the small mountain village seem to have not changed. When they see Qin Yao, they greet her warmly.

The rice in the fields has grown tall and is lush and green. The mountain breeze blows down, creating a large green wave, which is refreshing.

When Qin Yao saw the small courtyard on the hillside across the river from afar, her heart flew over there.

In the water mill at the foot of the hill, Dalang and his two siblings were sitting on stone piers, holding branches in their hands, practicing writing in a wooden tray filled with sand, while also keeping an eye on those sneaky people who wanted to get free rides from the water mill.

During the month that Qin Yao was away, Liu Ji had already caught the freeloader and took several of his brothers to beat him up.

Now those people in the village who have ulterior motives have become much more restrained, but they still have to be on guard at home.

Liu.Liancai.Ji: A penny is still money!

There were many half-human-high water plants growing near the water mill, so the four sitting Dalang siblings did not notice Qin Yao's arrival.

Instead, it was Liu Ji, who was in the outhouse behind his house on the mountain, who, relying on his excellent high ground vision, was the first to spot the ox cart heading towards his home.

When I looked closely, I was surprised to see that Qin Yao was actually back! She

was riding in a bullock cart, and the things on the cart must have been bought by her.

She's so delicious, so we have a meat dish tonight!

Liu Ji was so excited that he almost fell down when he was leaving the toilet. He hurriedly held onto the door panel and managed to stabilize himself.

He dusted off his clothes, lifted his hair, showed a smile that he thought was handsome, and rushed down the mountain.

He waved his hands and shouted, "Madam! Madam!"

The whole river was filled with his voice, and Qin Yao frowned when she heard it. What a shameful thing!

The driver looked at her with an ambiguous expression, "Madam Qin, you two are really in love. Look at how happy your husband is."

Qin Yao could only give an awkward yet polite smile.

Hearing Liu Ji's shout, the four brothers and sisters in the water mill stood up in surprise, and seeing the ox cart and the people on the bridge, they came forward shouting.

Sanlang and Si Niang: "Mother!"

Dalangjilang: "Auntie!"

Qin Yao agreed to go over one by one, waved her hand to remind them to make way, jumped off the cart, and the four mother and children surrounded the ox cart and sent it to their doorstep.

Liu Ji first smiled at Qin Yao attentively, and didn't mind her disdainful look. He helped the coachman unload all the things and put them away in the house.

He was surprisingly polite and even knew to say thank you to people and invite them into the house for a drink of water.

However, since they were in a hurry to return to Xiahe Village, Qin Yao did not keep them.

After watching the other person leave, he held the two children's hands and walked into the house with a smile amid their expectant questions.

"Is everything put away?"

Liu Jiying said, "The food has been stored in the storage room. I've hung up the meat. I'll fry some meat dishes for lunch and have a good meal. I'll use the rest to make oil residue so it can be stored for a longer time."

Hot weather also has its disadvantages. Meat and vegetables cannot last long.

But Qin Yao didn't buy too much. "Let's cook two pounds of ribs tonight. Fresh ones are the best for making soup."

Liu Ji nodded in response.

Qin Yao was not at home during this period, and the four of them, father and son, only cooked breakfast and dinner, and just had something simple for lunch. But today Qin Yao came back, and she cut half a pound of meat and kept it to stir-fry some meat dishes later.

Liu Ji naturally lit a fire and cooked the rice first. It was around 11:30 in the morning and there was still early, so he washed the vegetables and cut the meat and put them aside and cooked later.

If he wasn't afraid of making Qin Yao unhappy, he wouldn't have held it in until now.

Now that he had finished preparing the food, he immediately ran to the main room and touched the linen curiously, "Are you buying so much cloth to make summer clothes?"

Qin Yao went into the house and put away the weapons. She came back with a bag full of books and nodded. "After lunch, take the cloth to the old house and cut a pound of meat to take with you. Let the eldest sister-in-law and the second sister-in-law help each of us make a set."

"There must be a lot of cloth left, right?"

Although Liu Ji didn't know how to make clothes, he had seen pigs run even if he had never eaten pork. With two adults and four children, they did not need even a piece of cloth.

Qin Yao tutted at him, "If you knew how to make clothes yourself, you wouldn't have to spend this extra money."

Liu Ji smiled awkwardly, "Madam, you are joking again. How can a man pick up an embroidery needle to make clothes? It would be embarrassing if it gets out."

But he was reluctant to give both meat and cloth, so he said, "If you don't want the meat, don't give them the meat. They are brothers, how can they refuse."

Qin Yao put down the heavy cloth bag in her hand and saw Dalang's four brothers and sisters gathered in front of the two packages of snacks, looking at them expectantly, so she helped them open the paper bags.

"Oh, there are snacks too. These snacks are not sold in town, right?" Liu Ji looked at Qin Yao suspiciously.

There were eight pieces of each flavor of pastry. Qin Yao picked out six pieces of each. The remaining pieces were just enough for Jinbao, Jinhua and the two elders, one each. She asked Liu Ji to take them to the old house later.

"This is an extra gift from Mr. Ding." Qin Yao explained.

Liu Ji said "oh" and took over the task of distributing the cakes. He stuffed a piece of mung bean cake into his mouth first. It had a crunchy texture and just the right sweetness. It tasted very refreshing.

He looked at the four pieces that Qin Yao had separated out and reached out to grab them.

"Jinbao Jinhua has eaten everything. The elder and second brothers love their children very much. But our child has never eaten such exquisite snacks. Let's keep them at home."

Before she finished speaking, Qin Yao took the four cakes away and put them together with the sackcloth. "I heard from Dalang that you asked your elder brother, second brother and younger brother to beat someone up together?"

He is diligent when ordering people around, but refuses to share good things with them, and is not afraid of offending others.

"Da Lang, you talk too fast!" Liu Ji knocked on his eldest son's head. Da Lang was eating snacks peacefully, but he almost bit his tongue when Liu Ji knocked on him.

"Auntie~" Dalang looked at his stepmother aggrievedly.

Qin Yao raised her hand and slapped Liu Ji on the back of his head. "You forced me to slap you right after we got home, didn't you?"

Liu Ji was in so much pain that he saw stars, but he still tried hard not to lose face in front of his child. He took a deep breath and said, "My wife, I am just thinking about our family."

"I know what I'm thinking." Qin Yao glared at Liu Ji, "Can you have some ideas?"

Liu Ji was munching on a snack. What kind of layout is this? Can I eat it?

I felt sweet in my mouth but bitter in my heart. I covered my chest and looked at the meat snacks that were about to be delivered. For a moment, I couldn't tell whether it was a headache or heartache. Anyway, I felt pain everywhere.

"Madam, why did you buy so much paper?"

After a short silence and finishing his snacks, he asked again out of curiosity.

The strange feeling he had when Duanwu went to the town to see Qin Yao came back to him, giving him a bad feeling.
