Chapter 121: Fifty Sets of Schemes
There is nothing delicious, but there is something fun.
Qin Yao had nothing to do, so she made a few bamboo dragonflies for the four children at home who had few toys.
Jinhua held it in her hands with great surprise, happier than if she had gotten a candy. She couldn't wait to call her sister Si Niang, and the two of them ran away together.
Erlang was memorizing his lessons in the house, living up to his reputation as the best student in the family.
Dalang and Sanlang were both at the water mill, watching the horses bathing in the river while staring at the cash box in the water mill.
Business is very good now. As long as the villagers can get in line, they will choose the water mill. Those who have no money will use the vegetables they grow themselves as collateral for fear that the vegetables will be stolen. Dalang will go to the water mill every once in a while and take the vegetables home if he finds any.
The villagers jokingly called him the little shopkeeper.
Qin Yao led the visitor to the main room and poured him some water while observing his clothes and appearance.
He was a middle-aged man in his forties, with a popular mustache, a plain grey linen shirt, and his hair was neatly tied with a grey cloth strip. At first glance, he looked no different from the villagers around him.
But Qin Yao noticed that he was wearing a pair of thick cotton shoes with thousand-layer soles.
The palms of his hands that were exposed looked much more delicate and smooth than his face, and he didn't look like someone who did rough labor all year round.
The wheat-colored skin on his face looked like it was caused by years of walking outdoors.
"Have some water." Qin Yao handed him the boiled water, sat down opposite him, and asked with a smile, "What should I call you? Are you planning to install a water mill at home?"
"My last name is Bai, and my given name is Shan." He picked up the water cup, not knowing how far he had walked. He drank the cup of water in one breath as if he was extremely thirsty.
Qin Yao raised an eyebrow and reached out to take the empty cup to pour him another glass of water, but one hand blocked the cup, "No need, that's enough."
Qin Yao agreed, sat down again, and signaled him to speak frankly.
Bai Shan first asked her how much silver a set of ultra-small stone mill cost. After getting the price, he pondered for a moment, moved his fingers, silently calculated a number in his mind, and nodded.
Then he reached into his clothes and dropped two large silver ingots, one weighing twenty taels, for a total of forty taels.
"I want to order fifty sets of ultra-small water mills. You don't have to worry about the installation. I will send a few guys over to learn from you. If this batch sells well, I will come back later."
"But I have a request. You are not allowed to do business with other companies until my orders are completed."
"If you can take it, then we can discuss the price and delivery time now. If not, I'll take the money and leave, and you can just pretend I was never here."
Two large silver ingots fell on the dining table unexpectedly. Qin Yao was secretly surprised, but her face showed no emotion and she was very calm.
Bai Shan noticed her expression and frowned slightly. He didn't expect that although he looked young, he was actually an experienced guy.
If it were someone else, seeing these two large silver ingots, they would definitely show some surprise reaction.
He was so straightforward and frank that Qin Yao didn't hesitate. After a few seconds, she gave him the wholesale price.
"If you order 50 sets, I can give you a 20% discount, but if you order 100 sets, I can give you a 68% discount. Would you like to consider ordering more?"
"We are a village with many brothers and sisters. The busy farming season is just around the corner. We will definitely be able to deliver all 100 sets before the New Year."
Bai Shan shook his head. "It's too long before the New Year. 20% off is 20% off. The 50 sets will remain unchanged. Delivery will be in October."
The calculator in Qin Yao's head was almost broken from typing away. The Ghost Festival was coming soon, and it was the busy farming season, so she couldn't produce many sets in late July.
The effective period is August, September and October. She hasn't even prepared the wood and stone yet. On average, she will produce 16 sets a month. Taking into account the depreciation rate, even if the stones are knocked out with sparks, she can barely catch up.
Qin Yao tentatively said, "Delivery will be on November 1st."
Bai Shan shook his finger, "October 15th, three months is enough."
"It's really not possible. It's the busy farming season and we don't have enough manpower." Unless you pay more, Qin Yao added in her mind.
Bai Shan looked at Qin Yao helplessly, picked up the silver ingot and was about to leave.
Qin Yao didn't stop him.
Bai Shan walked to the gate of the courtyard, but didn't hear any sound. He stopped and turned back, gritting his teeth and said:
"We have to transport it to the south by October 20th at the latest. There will be snow in December, so we have to get it there before then. Otherwise, if we are blocked on the road by heavy snow, all our efforts will be wasted!"
When Qin Yao heard him say that, she thought to herself that he wanted to sell the products to the south. This was a really good idea.
There is plenty of water in the south, and perhaps every household can use it, so the market is huge.
But she also had her difficulties. Qin Yao waved her hand and asked him to come back and sit down to talk again.
"How about this? We'll deliver a batch of goods on October 15th, and then the rest on November 1st. I guarantee that the first batch will exceed 60% of the total, which is 30 sets."
This is how an assembly line works. At the beginning, you are busy adjusting the structure, arranging production materials, and recruiting people to build the factory. It is only in the last half month that things really get up to speed.
Qin Yao glanced at Bai Shan's clothes. The bulge in the clothes was where she placed the initial capital for building a production workshop.
Bai Shan's insistence softened a little. After thinking for a while, he added a clause: "If we can't deliver 30 sets by October 15, we won't want the remaining 20 sets, and the price will still be 20% off."
"No problem!" Qin Yao stood up and went to get paper, pen and red ink.
Seeing this speed, Bai Shan was stunned for a moment, feeling like he had suffered a great loss.
Fortunately, the professionalism Qin Yao demonstrated afterwards made him feel a little more secure.
The contract was written for an hour, and Dalang just came back with Lao Huang who had just finished taking a bath. Qin Yao asked him to call Carpenter Liu over.
Carpenter Liu brought a basket of wild bayberries. Dalang and his children were so happy that they asked Qin Yao if they could use their own pocket money to buy rock sugar from the peddler Liu. After getting permission, they took the sour wild bayberries and planned to make bayberry soup.
Erlang, Sanlang and Si Niang were all very happy, but Dalang was thinking that after two days the autumn harvest would be ready and they could give the adults at home some heat relief.
Qin Yao was busy with a big order, so she went with them. She made a brief introduction to both Carpenter Liu and Bai Shan, and asked Carpenter Liu to sign the contract.
Carpenter Liu took only one look at the total amount of the order, which was one hundred and twenty taels of silver, and then he excitedly pressed his fingerprint with trembling hands.
After the two politely sent Bai Shan away, Carpenter Liu turned around and held the door frame of Qin Yao's house and sat on the threshold, "I'll take my time, I'll take my time."
"Is it really one hundred and twenty taels?" he couldn't help but ask again.
Qin Yao held a silver ingot in one hand and knocked it against the other twice. "See if it's right."
I've already received one-third of the deposit, how could it be fake?
Carpenter Liu took a breath and said, "Take it easy, don't make a mistake."
With her tremendous strength, she could even beat a silver ingot into a silver cake. No wonder he was worried.
Qin Yao nodded and put the silver into her pocket. The two of them sat and stood, looking at the golden rice fields at the foot of the mountain, as if they had already felt the joy of the harvest.
